JR, 11 Jan 2017The G5 screen burns in..... LCD's don't burn in. Behind the screen, there is a backlight that provides light to the pixels, that provide the colors, where on AMOLED screens, the light is produced at a pixel-based level, so if a screen is on one image for enough time, it will burn in

DC, 11 Jan 2017Ok kid I guess you're too slow to understand the topic rele... moreThere is no evidence about blue subpixels degrading faster than others. Burnt areas don't show yellow tint, unless there was an always-on blue-colored image that caused the burn, which is not a real-life issue. As an AMOLED screen degrades, it generally becomes darker, that's all. (example: http://www.elandroidelibre.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/burnin-screen.jpg )
AMOLED screens look yellowish when compared to those having a very high color temperature. I considered, but didn't buy LG phones because their white point is around 8500K - they're extremely blueish, it hurts my eyes.
Of course if you put a typical LG and Samsung (amoled) phones side by side - the former would look cold (blue) and the latter looks warm (yellow).
Galaxy S5, 6 and 7 are calibrated to studio-standard 6500k. LG screens are much colder because of their "quantum-dot" technology restraints ("quantum-dot" here is their marketing name).
Your expensive and thoroughly calibrated desktop LCD-screen would look yellowish too, if you compare it to an LG phone, or any phone with a screen color temp well above 6500k.
P.S. Color tint of burned-in areas is a rare thing, the phone should display the only and the same picture 8 hours a day for a year or two, to achieve that effect. Example can be seen here: https://rakainfantri.files.wordpress.com/2013/08/img_20120906_165022.jpg Open that in Photoshop and invert colors to see a clear picture.

Amoled blue pixels degrades like 10℅ year on year making the phone yellow tinted trash after a couple of years, but narrow minded such as yourself want deeper blacks because it looks a bit better. Fancy over longevity. Also I'll use any brand as long as it has useful specs and proper build quality. Hope this was simple enough for you.

1. Bigger screen in even in smaller distentions as compared to G5. screen to body ratio will be more than 75%.
2. 30% More power efficient LCD than G5. this means bigger the screen but low battery consumption.
3. More brighter than G5 in day light.
4. bigger battery than G5.
5. Water-dust proof.
6. iris scanner.
7. wireless charging.
8. Hopefully improved camera.
9. No over priced as Samsung and apple will be.
That what we need.
Great work LG!

LCD is much bettter than AMOLED.
All AMOLED screens are going to burn in. The reason why Samsung use PenTile subpixels is the burn in. PenTile is intended to extend the lifespan of AMOLED screen and delay the appearance of burn in, but it does not solve the burn in issue, AMOLED still burns in, it still has much shorter lifespan than LCD. PenTile screens have less pixels which means they have lower resolution than what is advertised, thus PenTile screens are more pixelated than RGB ones (LCD screens are RGB). So higher screen resolution is required to hide the pixelation of PenTile AMOLED screen. The higher the screen resolution, the smaller the subpixels. The smaller the subpixels, the faster the burn in appear. It's bad for AMOLED either way.
The burn-in happens not only if you are displaying static image on the screen. Even if the content is continuously changing (dynamic) on the screen, the burn-in still happens. The only difference is that the burn-in from static image makes the burn-in more noticable and recognizable what image burned in. If the burn-in happened from dynamic content, you may not recognize an exact image, but the colors accross the screen get distorted, discoloration will happen.
The burn-in on AMOLED is unavoidable. It will happen, no matter what you do. The reason is that the subpixels degrade unevenly, at different rate because they light up at different brightness and at different color, according to the content displayed on the screen. Even if you could manage to display only a white image (so all subpixels are used at the same brightness and color), they would still deteriorate at different rate and the colors would still get distorted, because the different color subpixles have different lifespan.

The G6 will still, most likely, be a flop, like its predecessor, the G5, and its predecessor, the G4.

Doubt this will find its way to the G6 proper - the display is too large for the standard model.
