Huawei announces P8 Lite (2017) with 1080p screen, Kirin 655

12 January 2017
If the name isn't confusing enough, some markets might get it as P9 Lite (2017).

Nice design and phone, to be honest. Also, I love this company, but Huawei, seriously - why not use a USB Type-C on ALL of your phones?

Spam the world with Huawei phones. Release P8 Lite first then remarket it as P9 Lite then sell P10 Lite in a few weeks. Whoever works in the marketing department really really dont think this through and simply rushing the paperwork to get away from work on christmas and new year. And here the result. Someone is getting laid off soon enough.

xoOox, 12 Jan 2017Huawei is not confusing people, is just doing the same game... moreYeah but its different here, Huawei make a lite version of their flagship each year. Thats it.

Samsung have a certain number and then stay with that every year.

Huawei did the P8, and then P8 lite.
Then the did the P9 and P9 lite.
They should have waited for the P10 and then released a lite version as usual

AnonD-510098, 12 Jan 2017Why is Huawei trying to confuse ppl?Huawei is not confusing people, is just doing the same game as sammy...like A3, A5 and A7, J3, J5, J7 both have non year version and the (2016) version, and now in CES the "newer" (2017) versions - newer i dont see where but ok, sammy fans will say is a inovation!!!

goo, anyway, Huawei is just follow the trend, but instead of go from same way of sammy is doing even better in mid-range phones! KUDOS to Huawei.

I think it's cause it only has the features of p8 (like single camera) so it would be confusing to set it right next to the coming P10 when it's called p10 lite

If p8 lite 2017 and p10 lite co-exist in one country , the latter is going to be a higher-end device compared to the former , while giving an early taste of the p10.

Reminds me exceptional names which HTC used to make.
