Its call video monetization. Why pay to get comment pinned during live if I could just comment after the video is uploaded. Dont need to pay a dime for permanent non-live comment. Youtubers still reply to those too. What rich nuts going to pay $500? Live never even goes over 2 hours let alone 1hour average. Only the nerd gamers go live over 5 hours and they dont even read live comments.

AnonD-480266, 13 Jan 2017I just have 1 question. Imagine for a Live video there a... moreI believe it will be scrollable for the creator.
It's more likely you will have 15 people that pays for 2-5mins at a time, which would turn out to be more beneficial for the creator if they want to interact with their viewers more.
Say the creator wants help to get pass an obstacle in the game, a viewer can provide the answer and pin it for 2mins, which is plenty of time for the creator to read. If 15 people provide (roughly) the same answer...
I suppose it will be a slight detriment if everyone who paid wants to troll the creator, which I guess you are entitled if you choose to pay for it.
On another note about your hypothetical: 15 x $500 to block the stream of comments is enough incentive (imao) for the creator to tolerate those attention seekers.

Youtube is preying on the financially stupid. It's not very ethical but hey, someones gonna take there money so why not Google?

The smarter tech gets, the dumber people become.

I'm pretty sure some of that money will go to the video maker, and because YouTubers love money more than anything else everyone will be livestreaming their content instead of just uploading their videos. No editing, no going outside, no more brainstorming (stealing) ideas for new content, just livestreaming and chatting with the viewers and that's it. A win/win situation.

This is how YouTube becomes a social network, yay?

                            I just have 1 question.

Imagine for a Live video there are 15 people paying $500, so whose message would be given high priority by allowing it to be displayed for 5 hours.

Coz Youtube cannot make 15 people's comments to be displayed together at the same time in one go.

                            Kindly explain. Thank you..

Paying to get your attention seeking comment noticed? That sounds ridiculous but a lot of sad people would actually pay for this. Google sure knows how to make money.

$5 just for pinned my comment just for 2 minutes? i can buy a fried chicken with white rice, drink avocado juice, and dessert cake for $5 in my country that give me energy for 5 hours than this.
except you are a richman then no problem, dammit !!!
no judgement here, just give my opinion.
