Nexus 6P and 5X users reporting in-car Bluetooth issues with Android 7.1.1 update

It's not just me. Glad to hear that. I don't know that it is a Bluetooth issue. Phone calls won't work over wired earphones either.

The bluetooth issue is NOT an 'in-car' issue, but a Bluetooth issue. The Nougat update broke something in the way the signal is being emitted.
You can reproduce it very easily: just connect any bluetooth sound system to the Nexus 6p, put your hand 2cm over the upper area of the phone and wait a few seconds, the Bluetooth link will start disconnecting.
The in-car issue is similar: it actually cuts the link if the driver's arm gets in way of the car's Bluetooth receiver. Simply put the nexus6p on the passenger's seat and you will see it doesn't disconnect anymore. People who didn't notice the issue simply have a phone dock that doesn't cover the upper area of the phone, hence the signal not being cut off.
Google really messed up with this, I can't believe such an important feature got broken without them noticing. A lot of people bought Nexus 6p to benefit from security updates and end up re-installing android 6x just because of Bluetooth issues. This is unacceptable!

I have the same problem.
It bothers me a lot. I cannot via blootooth with my car, with my headphones, it doesn't work at all.

For the past few months, each update for the Nexus/Pixel line seems to open a can of worms for the users. I wish Google fixes these issues soon or their reputation is gonna take a hit for sure.

Just upgraded to 7.1.1 on my Nexus 5X, BT works great in both cars, one with aftermarket speaker, one with Subaru OEM.

Yes I have encountered this same issue. It is very frustrating to have a vehicle which offers this amenity but cannot be utilized! I have spoken to representatives about this issue and also did some troubleshooting to get it rectified, but to no avail! Is my next option to go with another carrier? Please advise.

I had problems that last 2 months and it was in service 3 times, but it seems it is finally resolved. There are lots of bulletins that the dealer gets, but only action is taken with customer complains. Now my 6P connects with no problem.

Dude... Use a freaking Bluetooth headset. Seriously... I see more and more mud thrown at nexus and pixel. Go buy an Iphone then and become the stupid mass population that's using that s**t. God. You're more annoying that Half Life 3 Threads!! Nexus up nexus down! Go get a new phone or stop complaining! We are the only users who use the Ultimate security updates. You can't see past that? Really?

My phone connects no problems to my ram 1500, but won't connect to my Chevy Cruze. I think that's why some people are saying they don't have issues.
