Samsung I9003 Galaxy S comes with a Super Clear LCD?

02 February, 2011
It seems the Samsung I9000 is going the way of the dodo. Rumors say so - the original Galaxy S will obviously be discontinued in favor of the I9003, which is the same phone except for one key difference - the screen...

Regarding the Galaxy Si9003, it came a shocker to me that Samsung would go backwards and now put an LCD screen. I was really impressed with the first version as I had already used the Wave but by the time I got down to buying one it was off the shelves and no one could say why, now i see its a big big let down, whats the fun of all the applications if the screen aint that good....their loss is blackberrys gain :-C

samsung is going greedy, they r producing new phones and their down-greaded clones in real fast time bt they are not conserned about their reputation. If i buy their down-graded galaxy s and it fail to impress me than what would they achive ?, As a future coustomer they will defenatnly lose me. So i think they shud stick with super AMOLED screens in galaxy s or discontinue galaxy s altogether. No use failing peoples expectation. 19500-rupees is big money.

The changes aren't afecting only the screen but. The ram and Gpu too. So i think that is not only because of the samsungs incapaciti to produce enought samoled screens. Its entire redisigned so its not the same phone. That what i think

EarlZ you have problems , how much led screens are in usage in homes like tvs and like mobile phones now for two years and none had complains about screen itself. So u don't know the main reason it is shortage with production of this kind of screens . It is due massiv demand of this phones.

The supply reason is B&S, SAMOLED screens have a 4-5 months life span before they start to degrade, I think they are stopping the current production to prevent mass RMA's from users. If supply was an issue you can easily buy off original replacement SAMOLEDS over the internet in massive bulks.

So lets get this right, if you currently have a Galaxy S like myself and think you could do with a change and newer model, sell your galaxy S and buy the new model I9003 to find it has much worse spec than the one you had.

SAMSUNG WAKE UP AND STOP REVERSING- Why bring horrible super LCD screen to Wave and Galaxy because you cant keep up with the demand for super amoled.

The new Wave and Galaxy I9003 are going to be massive failures

If u look closely you can see it isn't ment for world upgrade because it only supports 4g network so i guess U.S.A. and estern part of Asia . This is only a rumor and if it is partially true you didn't toled that in your annoucment.

I scoured the market for my HTC Desire AMOLED back in November, and since it is the last of its kind its almost irreplaceable now. Looks like Galaxy S is going that way too. And I don't like TouchWiz so its HTC Desire AMOLED or nothing. (Or Nexus S, but I'm spoiled by Sense UI.)

differences with the old samsung super amoled not just display,.
                                    see the table.

First with the use of Super Clear LCD, the thickness of the Galaxy S increased by about 0.7 mm, from 9.9mm to 10.59mm. And to increase weight from 119 grams to 130 grams now. The possibility of increasing the battery capacity of 1500mAh to 1650mAH. But the excess capacity of this battery does not seem to affect so many, considering the Super AMOLED more efficient power than the Super Clear LCD. Then it should be noted the change processors used, from 1GHz Hummingbird (C111) to 1GHz OMAP 3630. And the use of Android Froyo 2.2 on this new generation S Galaxy. Other changes are changes in the amount of storage capacity and the phone's internal memory.

Based on this video, SC-LCD doesn't seem to be any worse than Retina display on iPhone as far as outdoor conditions go.
