The only money Nintendo/Apple will get form this is the actual sell as the game has no microtransactions added for "pay to Win"...So you pay and you get the full game.
So in the apple ecosystem you need to buy the app (if you wish to go over the third level) In android very little people will actually buy the game, some because they can't afford it or because the phone can't handle it. Those that have capable phones and are not willing to shell out $10 will wait for the Crack so they can play the full game for free.
This makes the app store way more attractive to developers than Google play.

Money is obviously one thing as BiG majority of Android users use pirated software although the main issue is app writting language and the process itself (its not about the fact of so many devices on Android as such)! When u write apps for iOS the process is simple although process of writting on Android is a bit of a mess and Google doesnt seems to care about it.

Also 90% of users gonna get pirated version of this app and it does not need root, any user can install apk's. And this would mean that company will be in a loss. People buys more on iOS devices. If Mario was free, they would have launched at the same time for both platforms.
