AnonD-632062, 21 Jan 2017I think you can get the job done using blue-light filter ap... moreTrue, except for one thing.
I tried so many of them and found that whenever a screenshot was taken while the light filter was active, it would show in the captured image as well.
In order to avoid this effect, one would have to disable the filter, take the screenshot and then reenable the filter.
f.lux was the only app I tried which didn't have this limitation.
Of course this won't be much of an issue if you don't take screenshots often or you don't mind having the filter drawn over the item you wanted to capture.

AnonD-565474, 21 Jan 2017Not if you're running 7.1.1. I didn't know that. It looks like Android is loosing some customization options when they get updated, not just this.

I know it's good to block blue light but I never use it.. Having this feature built-in the system is probably better but I'm no expert.
Maybe this way it can do it's job better, applying it to other non system apps like games etc.

Built in ROM Night mode have much more viewing quality. Only inside ROM integrated Night Modes have allow premissions change screen color temperature to Night Mode. Apps for night mode just imitating changing screens temperature, just putting color fillter on whole screens, on whole colors, not only on blue, so apps filters cause less contrast, and viewing expirients.

There are apps to get the same results. Just search for blue light filters. You don't need to root the device.
I currently use Night Owl Screen Dimmer. It has automatic start and turn of fictions.
Screen Filter by Hexor Industries is another great app and the app size is very small.
Night Mode by Bruno Marao is another small app.
Of course there are many other apps, but they require lot more PERMISSION that is not required for a such an app. Some filter apps want to use the device camers. So it is better to be cautious.

Xperia and, in fact, all android users who've rooted their phones can use the wonderful f.lux application to achieve the same results.
Of course, it's great OEMs are beginning to build this into their stock ROMs.
👍 Sony
