A 100-strong task force has been set up to make sure what happened to the Note7 doesn't happen again.

DNeighbor, 24 Jan 2017If they're serious about battery, Samsung should introduce ... moreMaking the batteries removable would significantly increase the size of the phone as they would have to have protective housing around the batteries that they wouldn't need to have otherwise. also to make the back glass panel removable would mean they'd need to reinforce the back with some sort of framing structure so that it didn't crack when you take it on and off. as convenient as a removable battery means it just doesn't work with trying to make phones thinner and nicer looking. better off just trying to properly maintain the battery and then taking it back to samsung to get the battery replaced if need be

AnonD-625776, 24 Jan 2017I'm glad Samsung is taking the necessary steps to fix its r... moreNope it's not the problem of space or design.. The problem is in the battery itself.. Don't go around making statements like you actually investigate the issue when what you really are doing is parroting some assumptions that you read.. Pathetic

I'm glad Samsung is taking the necessary steps to fix its reputation and everything but at this point it's getting ridiculous. Why invest so much when the real issue was they rushed and cramped the battery into too small of a space? It was a simple fix they over looked and took months to even announce. This doesn't mean anything for safety, to me it's just them trying to make their brand image better. (They are investing in themselves btw..)

Good. It seems like Samsung is doing everything in it's power to reduce any further mishaps and they are advertising it well too!

They should invest to improve battery capacity. In a new battery technology, for example lithium oxigen battery or something like this.

Who do you think makes Apple batteries ?? Samsung dont just make their batteries so its a shame Samsung faced this but if it means safer phones from everyone its good.

If they're serious about battery, Samsung should introduce the next generation battery technology, or at least go back to removable battery. I've had my fair share of batteries that lost its original power charge after a year.

This is a particularly important move, since Samsung wants to get in the electric car business (just batteries at the moment) and that everyone knows they did the Note 7 batteries.
