Maybe they are not known for their smart phone market yet, but as one of a very small group of companies actually making quality Android products at a genuine low price point they are one of a small cadre properly imagining googles dream for Android... Smart phone for the masses. Also I would sit up and pay attention they passed $35 Billion US last year in revenues and are significantly more profitable than Ericsson (the only one bigger), they mean business in any market they choose go into.

IDEOS X3 may be the global version of Japan-bound SoftBank 004HW.

I'd say the X3 would come with Gingerbread out of the box since it has a front facing video call camera.

I purchased February 2 2011 an S7 tablet. The device is better than any of the reviews indicate. One major issue is that if you use your existing T-mobile SIM card with Data plan, only the phone portion will work, web access will be denied. An internal memo at HUAWEI apparently exists stating T-mobile are blocking web access to the S7. If one buys one of the T-mobile Tablet Data plans (or a Galaxy tab) web access will be allowed.

Huawei doesn't give a sh*t to their customers, why won't they make an Android 2.2 Froyo for their mobiles? it's such a shame because the quality of their phones compares to Nokia's.
