I think we were discussing SD 625 and how come suddenly you are mentioning 650 series?

I understand Snapdragon has confusing nomenclature. But it was about efficiency of 625 with x20.
Anyways I will SHUT UP. but that's not going to change the facts of real life performance.

Thanks

aatif khan, 30 Jan 2017Dude, first understand what is the difference between true ... moreLol, NOOBS saying "don't talk if YOU DON"T KNOW", LOL...

DUDE, Helio X20 is basically SD650 ON STREOIDS, with 4 MORE Cortex A53 @ 2.0GHz & Mali High-end GPU T880 MP4 @700MHz which performance is (a bit) better than MEDIOCRE Adreno510, thanks to HIGH-END types & higher GPU clocks...

I have been in Android world, monitoring EVERY SINGLE SoC (smartphone, not the tablet ones) from Mediatek, ever since MT6575 comes out in 2011, and Helio X20 & X30 is Mediatek's "Masterpiece" when u talk about CPU RAW performance (Cortex A72 & A73 for mid range SoC is RARE, as MOST SoC makers (Samsung, Huawei, Qualcomm) usually choose Cortex A53 and overclocked it), equipped with DECENT GPU, albeit having the HIGH-END types with higher clocks (T760, T880).

FYI, Snapdragon 650 SoC IS NOT CHEAP, what makes it "feels" cheap is THANKS to Xiaomi with ALL the compromises u see in Redmi Note 3 pro/Mi Max. U can see that NONE (except Xiaomi) made a "cheap" midrange Android phones using SD65x,

Sony Xperia X & X Compact that uses SD650 priced 2.5 times more expensive than Mi Max SD650 version (in my country), even Samsung A9 that uses SD652 priced MORE INSANE, 2 times Mi Max SD652 version (the one with 4GB RAM & 128GB ROM)!

So, let me say the same to you, DUDE NOOBS...

Get ur facts right before SAYING SHIT to someone or SHUT UP!

      Mediatek Version

The difference is so massive that in some apps like Facebook (vieweing photos) or even the web browser the difference is noticeable.

The biggest difference comes when we are gaming heavy games like Asphalt 8 or Nova 3. Then there is the geek oriented apps like compiling small programs or even more advances, compile some local Databases queries.

GSMA first had Xiaomi Redmi note 4 snapdragon page titled separately and MTK page as plain RN4 and now it is reversed -Mediatek version separately, why to get more views ;) Maybe we will see Snapdrgaon page (plain RN4) in second spot next week

More cores doesn't mean better, but it actually means inefficient to do same tasks that can be done by octa cores.

Efficiency is the reason why SD SoC are preferred over Mediatek SoC.

Do u really think that MOST of the people that choose Redmi Note 4 Mediatek version are a bunch of Noobs? nope, except u maybe, as u really think that SD625 version of Redmi Note 4 are worth buying over Mediatek ones...

FYI, Xiaomi are known for their good support in terms of software update, albeit quite late in delivering the latest Android version, SO there is NO REASON to worry for getting the Helio X20 version of Redmi Note 4, which is MORE POWERFUL than SD650 (CPU), yet benefit more from the Mali T880 mp4 as it have the same (if not better) quite capable GPU for a US$150 phone (SD652 & SD653 are not worth the money as it only differs 10-15% in CPU but have SIMILAR mediocre GPU)

so, Xiaomi is RIGHT in equipping Redmi Note 4 with Helio X20, as Redmi Note 3 already use SD650, and SD652/653 are just EXPENSIVE but offers LITTLE to nothing upgrades over SD650. If only Qualcomm upped their game in SD653: 14nm/16nm architecture, Adreno 520 which offer performance between Adreno 510 and Adreno 530, then sd653 will be the NEXT IDOL after SD650, but since Qualcomm play safe, the only thing that people will buy from them is SD820/821, SD835, and SD650, with some brands will buy SD625 for their battery-minded customers

FYI, SD625 &SD626 are Qualcomm's way to get back to Mediatek after Mediatek "crushed" SD615 & SD410 in 2014 with their MT6752, MT6732, and Helio X10.

Just look at their CPU configuration: Helio X10 (Standard) 8core Cortex A53 @2.0 GHz, and SD625 HAVE THE SAME CONFIGURATION, and Helio X10 (Turbo) 8core Cortex A53 @2.2 GHz is WHAT SD626 CPU configuration is, WHICH DIFFERS ONLY IN THE ARCHITECTURE (Helio X10 28nm vs. SD625/626 14nm) & GPU (PowerVR vs. Adreno 506 which is EVEN MORE LESS CAPABLE THAN ADRENO 510 in SD650)

If u hates Mediatek, just say it so, NO NEED to said a bullshit like "Mediatek is shit, mediatek is bad, mediatek won't getting updates"

This strategy work good for xiaomi and yes it confused the buyer, but Mediatek version or SD version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is decent choice for midrange phone who want big screen phone and low price (one of best value phone in midrange). No much different performance between those 2 chipsets but will cost different for SD.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2017Pros and Cons for J7 Prime vs S7 Edge please :)S7 is flagship, one of the best flagship now, and J7 series is a midrange but IMO not the best midranger because of it price. If you are really want samsung, you have money, go for S7. But if you want midranger, I dont want to recommend J7 prime but up to you if you really want samsung, go for J7 prime.

Don't try to compare them, because you're comparing a flagship of flagships with an low-midrange phone. Greetings. :D

Seems that the Snapdragon version ended to be dissapointing compared to the Mediatek one.
