I'm actually really disappointed in the lack of support for Xiaomi. Compared to all the Chinese manufacturers, they have the best bang for your buck phones and yet more expensive or "overpriced" phones are getting more attention

Of course it will sell well because they perfectly copied apple iPhone in many aspect, design,APp opening effect and camera UI. I think apple should file a case for that patent and Chinese oppo will lose they're money and I'm going to be happy 😊

AnonD-428442, 30 Jan 2017Oppo is actually overpriced as well. Vivo is good, until th... moreFrom what I have observed over the past few years, the reason OPPO and Vivo are succeeding while Xiaomi is falling is due to their "premium" reputation. As the middle class population gets larger in China, the demand for premium products gets higher. Many of OPPO and Vivo's products fall in the premium midrange category. Plus the amount of advertising and sponsorships they do, it is no surprise they are seen as a luxury in China. Due to their reputation, even their low end products are seen as "premium" products.
Despite having excellent quality, Xiaomi's products are seen as "cheap" and "low status". Xiaomi understands this problem and has tried to change this with costlier products but to little success. (E.g. Metal luggage, Ninebot Mini) In fact, the move backfired, with fans complaining about the increase in cost.
Moral of the story: If you start off as a premium brand, you can always go cheap later. If you start off as a budget-oriented brand, have fun trying to change people's impression of your products.

Oppo and Vivo are winning the market because they are pushing their distribution and marketing to 2nd and 3rd tier cities via brick-n-mortar resellers.

Excellent. Apple is not worth it, even if the price would be $500 for the iPhone 7.
Glad to see the ''big three'' (Oppo, Vivo and Huawei) growing at rapid speed, although, I prefer Huawei. They use the most recent technologies. Oppo and Vivo devices don't even use USB Type-C yet, but anything is better than Apple, especially Android.
