Microsoft is working on simplified Windows 10 Cloud to fight Chromebooks

The company is starting to feel the heat from Google's Chrome OS devices, and is trying to do something about the situation.

Whatever they do, I hope they don't abandon it like how they did with RT, as the whole Windows RT with Metro UI never got an update to Windows 10........

    UWP is the problem, less features than traditional x86 programs, slow loading and the ridiculous haphazard ui. They just seem to randomly throw menus all over the place.

That's why I prefer the mobile version where it uses the transparent tile UI. Project neon will be a major UI change and from what I have seen it will be gorgeous.

It didn't take off. Why? because it was so complex that no average user in the right mind would know how to use it. And of course pricey as hell.

        Now they started the whole 2-in-1 revolution. The idea of the OS that runs across different input/output mediums.

        They are just slow at implementing things and always get beat to the punch. They are also bad with hiding complexity from users.

        Anyways, this is simply going to be a cheaper version of Windows RT. This is nothing new. Not following Google at all. If anything Google followed windows.

          Not surprised to see Microsoft react. Because MS has always reacted rather than acted. Been a follower rather than a leader. If not for heat from Google then MS would still be resting on its laurels guarding its portfolio of locally installed Word, Excel and IE6. And those pesky BSODs would still be the breaking news of the day.

                    The advantage i see from this is that Windows 10 cloud would probably be available globally. I don't understand why Google always like to take their time to do something.
