10 February, 2011
Samsung announced two new camera modules - one 12MP and one 8MP - both of which are capable of capturing 1080p video. The new sensors won't be out for a while, but they will eventually find place in...

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2011but did not the gentleman state Super amoled not oled, if i... moreNo... there is almost zero diff. between oled & amoled.
Sony's oled screens r as much nice as amoled of samsung. I have Sony A845 walkman which has Oled screen & my bro has samsung galaxy s(super amoled screen) & I have compared both the screens. It's very hard to tell any diff. bet. them.
The problem is that sony only uses oled for their walkman's which r not counted among mobile phones.
1st oled(organic light emitting diode) came out but samsung chose to name their oled screens as amoled(active matrix organic light emitting diode) whereas sony just kept the name oled.
Oled further divides into two technologies - 1. amoled, 2. pmoled.
When using oled screen a company has to chose between amoled & pmoled. Pmoled is very undeveloped & bad technology while amoled is very good. Therefore if a company is using oled than it's most probably amoled.

Oled (parent technology of amoled) was developed by Kodak & World's 1st oled tv(name > xel-1) was made by Sony.
Btw... the backlit technology used by samsung in these new camera sensors is Sony's own developed Exmor R technology.

NOKIA Fans!! Yeah! Bravo! Comparing N8 Camera sensor to yet-to-be-released camera sensors by Samsung..youre pathetic! Give them some slack! At least wait for its release in a Smartphone before comparing even if it takes several months. and btw N8 having symbian aint smart at all.

cheap samsung, 10 Feb 2011 Yes apple may use others technologies but still they use ... more which innovation?! it got only 4 kind of phones in its whole life that are almost the same, a whole company got one year to improve (no innovation) only one phone, and their innovated design still cause the antenna issue.
making wider lens, better LCD, and higher cpu, not only is a innovation, but also it's such a obvious thing that can't be named even as a copy of samsung or other companies because they don't even match with others
and who said samsung don't have any innovation? they make 100s of different designs and hardware in only one year and for any kind of use and money, with no antenna issue, the innovation is making the 1st phone with 2 LCDs, making the 1st watch phone, making the 1st super amoled displays, the first phone with HD video recording, phones with dnse and many other innovations

                  AHAHHAHA!

That is NOTHING to boast about. Smaller pixels = worst photo quality. The Nokia N8 is the only respectable cameraphone on the market with a HUGE sensor and big pixels. (1.83 um)

Yes apple may use others technologies but still they use it to innovate and create new things. There is no problems in buying amoled screen or samsung processors to use them.

But when you copy/paste the product and make it the same as other products this means you have zero innovation. Samsung are really good in working like a machine. It's like someone that is not smart but very hard working and therefore will achieve good work.

But people will always admire the smart guy for his intelligence and unique ideas, because the hard worker will always follow him since he is not smart enough to come up with his own ideas.

                            Smart = apple

hard working + less smart = samsung

And yes original products will always be preferred on wannabes!

Sony camera mod... moreAnd Nokia had a 8 MP camera with a 1/2.33" sensor back in 2009 in the N86, so what's your point? The N86 camera is still comparable to the best from other compaies like SE today. This is not to say tha SE phones have bad cameras, in fact they're pretty good compared to most other phones, but Nokia is still the king of phone cameras, first with the N86 (and N82 before that) and now the N8.
