If we are supposed to estimate it, the A10 Fusion chip is just as powerful as the SnapDragon 821, Exynos 8890, and Kirin 960 if not any faster. The thing here that give Apple a significant lead in terms of benchmark power is the storage chip, the NVMe, which is why iPhones are very powerful at loading times and processing speed. Androids' single core power is enough to match iPhone in the basic apps opening like Settings, Camera, Messaging, Dialer, Facebook, etc.
I'm not saying Android is faster than iOS, but let's not say that it's because it's not optimized, because it definitely IS optimized. Soon, UFS 2.1 will lead again, and it's another time that Androids get faster than iPhones. But in the end, these are all flagships, and they will deliver superior performance than typical average smartphones can

It is actually amazing that androids manages to do 4 times as much computing, rendering and loading in nearly the same time as apple devices does 4 times less.

Anonymous, 01 Feb 2017Please let other oems using SD835 first....I mean they don't even need it. They have Exynos which is faster. The only reason to hoard SD 835 is to keep competition from getting to it.

            Pathetic.

3:2 is better at everything than 4:3 and it can do equally well what 4:3 touts as its greatest advantage (used in portrait mode)... So yeah, this is a case of Samsung blindly copying ... even if it means copying a bad idea.

I've tried the 4:3 screen thing and it isn't for me. Prefer 3:2 or 16:10. If there are no interesting announcement near MWC, I guess I'll just pick up a Mediapad M3.

Hmm.. yeah optimised it in another word.

Don't need to give all that damn excuse of lag or slower. Its just because Google / or its OEM fails to optimise it. (Hardware / software have poor marriage)

                                -Gary from Android Authority

Yes, Android is very optimized. But the main problem here is that the apps and processes of Android is somewhat heavy because it has more capabilities and options, therefore taking them forever to load or do anything. For instance, GTA loads faster on iPhone but you can't change the crappy 720p resolution of it, while Androids can do it since the beginning. On heavy intensive apps, iPhones are better because of lesser processes and lighter apps needed to be done, but on basic apps and 3rd party ones like Dialer, Messaging, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, WhatsApp, Viber, Camera, etc. are equally fast on both Android and iOS, maybe some Androids are even faster. But one day soon, we'll see Androids become even faster than iOS when Google manages to make their system lighter and less bloated
