Sony is catching up with the big dogs, maybe it's going to be top5 until 2018 when it comes to sales, because in quality they are top notch.

AnonD-404798, 02 Feb 2017SONY XPERIA high end phones got same support like Google Pi... moreBetter to have them to be safe rather than waking up to bugs like Stagefright etc. I understand that chances of exploitation are remote for the general public but I prefer to be safe rather than sorry. I do prefer them over OS upgrades unless OS upgrade is for real with some features to look forward to.

AnonD-69139, 02 Feb 2017The only oem with most number of devices running on nougat ... moreThat's what Sony is typical. I also used (and burned cash) on Motorola (Moto G and X 2nd generation), Samsung (Alpha, A5, and S7), HTC (M7 and M8), Xiaomi (Mi 5), LG (G4) but none could match the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact which worked with no issue whatsoever! Each device would excel in one way or other but all-rounder was Sony Z3C. Now on Sony Xperia X and same experience. Feel bad for the money wasted on others, though :(

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2017Loved my z5 but Jesus couldn't use it the summer in a car o... moreSony Z5 was unfortunate to have 810 and so do other phones because it was Qualcomm at fault. But almost all manufacturers suffered (HTC M10 another casualty) when in fact, they can hardly do anything with SoC other than limiting/throttling which will only degrade/impact performance further. Newer series of 8xx and 6xx are devoid of any heating issue (confirmed on Sony Xperia X SoC 650 SD) but damage was done last year :(

Amazed by Sony and their efforts! Lucky to have bought X after price reduction of 10k INR and now, Nougat with latest security patch is icing on the cake!

For once Sony phablets are ahead of the Nexus, Pixel & Blackberry phablets.
                  Good for them :-D

SONY XPERIA high end phones got same support like Google Pixel , that's amazing ... although those ''security patches'' are not that important actually , total waste of resources imo .

The only oem with most number of devices running on nougat even par with Google owned devices. Latest updates, longer updates to older devices, user friendly UI, top notch built quality, safety standards upto mark, great performance with most stable software with least number of app crashes, good camera(not the best you can get), good battery life, good display. What else do you need?
** rocking my xperia z5 since 1.5 years with 31/32 gb internal memory full and almost full sd card but still no signs of lag anywhere anytime **
