Here in Philippines, update to EMUI 5.0 Android Nougat rolls out... already downloading as of today...

This is still 6 months from the time Google released the update to its Pixel/Nexus phones and at least 2 months late compared to the likes of Sony, Samsung, etc.

None of the models (P9, Mate S, Nova, etc) mentioned in previous comments are sold in the US. US is the strategic battleground for Huawei now and they will first focus on the US released models, which include Mate 9, Honor 8, Honor 6X. The world will be even more centered around the US now that Trump is in action. Huawei is making the only logic decision here and more will follow. Be prepared.

AnonD-573368, 02 Feb 2017Better if they roll it out for their lasr years flagships, ... moreI think Huawei is trying make a statement that it will bring updates to even midrangers and low end devices. And in this struggle, they didn't even update their flagship, yet.

Huawei very dissapointed myself, it's not one year yet when i bought Mate S for almost 600$, that phone is 1,5 year since launch. And this phone and his brothers (P8, P8 Lite, GX8) will not recieve Android 7 Update, this is shame!!! Last update was in June 2016, since that I didn't recieve even security patch!!!

yoga, 03 Feb 2017For people who need OS updates, you are going to receive a ... moreThat is because Marshmallow is one of the most retarded Android releases ever. Almost no new features (the new features there are almost useless), but they still bumped up the version number from 5 to 6. For me, Marshmallow is still Lollipop 5.2. Compared to Marshmallow, Nougat really deserves the version bump. The only thing good about Marshmallow is that it's a stable version, but other than that, one of the most unimpressive updates ever released.

For people who need OS updates, you are going to receive a couple of additional features when you update from Android M to N , rather your OS is not going to completely changed. When the performance of your phone doesn't change after a year, you are still good. I have a Honor 4x, i bought it with Android 4.4.2 and then upgraded to 5 and now Android 6.0.1. Apart from 1 or 2 additional features I didn't find anything completely different.

Ask Note 5 owners who still do not have Nougat. Then you will understand Huawei are much better than Samsung.

Huawei and Honor have conveniently sidelined honor 7,though at the time of launch they had declared that Honor 7 would be updated periodically upto 2 years. So better to give bye bye to huawei/honor

Nougat is starting to roll out to p9 and honor 8 around the same time as samsung s7 , what more do you want. If you cannot accept that android is different and google's release just means manufacturers get to start working on it you're better off with apple.

AnonD-573368, 02 Feb 2017Better if they roll it out for their lasr years flagships, ... moreSame here, April Security patch, no beta, no updates, there's a firmware Nougat for the VIE-L29 C605 B354 but can't manually update and not OTA. Very unhappy with software support.

Better if they roll it out for their lasr years flagships, I paid for the Huawei P9 Plus in 700€ like 6 months ago , and still got nothing , shame shame shame, Huawei is very much weak when it comes to software support, I would never buy a one again!
