lubbalots, 13 Feb 2011Android fanboys, here is the reason why Nokia did not choos... moreNo. Just no.

Elop chose WP7 because he was a Microsoft guy prior to getting the job as CEO of Nokia. He became CEO becuase he was elected by some American investors who demanded an American CEO to lead Nokia.

Microsoft's WP7 doesn't sell and they needed a boost. They saw this opportunity in Nokia. Microsoft has more to gain on this partnership than Nokia. Elop dumped Symbian and put MeeGo as an experimental platform. Elop didn't do what's best for Nokia; he did what is best for Microsoft.

Ask these guys and I'm pretty sure that a lot of them will agree with me.

nishajbest, 12 Feb 2011Why Windows why not Android? :(No way man!
Nokia will not use Android, because android is fully controlled by the big G.
WP7 is not that good but at least your data are stealth.

Do not drop Meego, but merge Meego with Symbian, as those two using QT language.

How about Ovi Maps? I hope they also port it to WP 7. This is the only reason why I held on with my Nokia phone.

Nokia had it made by a friggin CEO spy from another company. They killed you, Nokia!

[deleted post]you can't just exclude and include as you wish. We can both play this game.

If you exclude the voice and legs from Michael Jackson i think kevin federline will be more successful.

For nokia, through wp7, for the first time they will have OS that can actually compete and beat the dominance of android and ios. WP7 OS is very fast, smooth, stable, stylish, elegant, creative, and beautiful. Not to mention developer support, for the note up to now, application for wp7 has reached 8000 applications and growing, this growing faster than android, similar to ios. So yessss, I can see myself looking at wp7 succes in the next one year. I make the same predictions before 2007 even before apple announce iphone that if apple come out with the mobile phone or smartphone it will bring big wave and shock and change the entire industry and game plan. Anyone want to bet with me? NOKIA solid hardware and WP7 advance OS? Sure why not. THANKS

as long as this OS keeps an open platform, then it's good..maybe some upgrade on phone specs and this new concept is ready to rock!

Some people here are so foolish that they think Microsoft took over Nokia. Funny. The revered and praised Android is still outsold by the hated Symbian. Hard to digest the truth right?
Nokia will still be using Android-outselling-Symbian OS and they'll use Windows in their high end phones. Scary.

Windows has so much potential and it's still in early years. Now that the world's biggest Phone company use it, development will go at breakneck speed.
Microsoft sure knows how to make OS (WINDOWS7) and couple that with Nokia who actually support their products and care about its users.

Android is the present. WindowsPhone7 is the future. Oh wait at present Symbian outsells Android.

you know what, my father works in Nokia and he told me that nokia is really dying right now being bombarded with low market sales despite the great number of unit phones sold. actually, the number did not speak it out for the real standing of nokia. it is just numbers of the sold units in which it accounts all of the low to mid range phones being sold to asia in cheap prices. this means that nokia only holds true that they are the monster when it comes to numbers of sold phones compare to samsung. but, the real truth behind is these numbers are just NUMBERS. when we will disregard this, it is really Samsung sitting on the thrown long before we realize it. they have sold 10 million of high end Galaxy phone in which the flagship N8 of nokia did not even took a half. they have sold tablets 2-3 million. mid range phones are around 5-6 million. while the N8 is selling, samsung is also earning for they made the N8'S processor. when Microsoft suffered for low profit, it was samsung who carried them to what they are now after samsung realeased the Omnia 7 and the WP7 phones. android credits its royalty to samsung also, earning its thrown over symbian is because of the success of the Galaxy S followed by other manufacturers. Nokia is threatened with Samsung's statement to overtake Nokia and take the first place in no time. Nokia, left with no choice, marries with Microsoft to save the company from drowning.
