Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 will have an S Pen in the box

03 February 2017
However, there will be no place to hold the stylus inside the tablet, like on the Galaxy Note smartphones.

That SUCKS that it won't have a slot for the spen!! Ridiculous!!! That's what has been awesome about the Samsung Tablets, versus the iPads. So so so stupid. Stupid move, Samsung! What a stupid decision!! I think they are just trying to copy crApple because crApple has the pen for their iPad Pro that is sold separately. Samsung was probably planning to copy them in that way too, that you have to buy the spen separately, but then they now decided to include it. Ugh so dumb.
Anyway, I hope that AT LEAST there will be cases for it that have a slot to keep the spen in.

AnonD-632062, 05 Feb 2017An S-pen is always welcome! But it's better if it's bundled... moreNo it's not. My Note 10.1's only problem is that the spen holster has loosened (after a loooot of use) and now my tablet wakes up all the time out of the blue. Better have the pen holster removed, it both slims down the tablet and it allows it to survive longer (no silly bugs from long use). Pens themselves are dirt cheap, so buy 10 of them, and you'd always have some around.

An S-pen is always welcome! But it's better if it's bundled inside the tablet, for safety and practicality!

Julliard, 04 Feb 2017You actually like the square-ish aspect ratio by Pixel? Its... more3:2 is not squarish. It's far less squarish than 4:3. It's great for both portrait use and landscape use (important for tablets) but also good for media viewing (not too much of black bars)

2:1 or 16:9 are completely unusable in portrait mode you lose half the tablet's usability so they're out. 4:3 is too square and very bad for media so it is out.

I admit that 3:2 is not perfect, it's just a tiny bit better for portrait than 16:10. But yeah, I get your criticism, 16:10 could actually be better for a lot of people.

Basically as long as the aspect ratio is 3:2 or 16:10 I'm fine with it. Everything else is too much of something and you start losing important uses. For example this tablet is terrible for media... and what's the point of a tablet that is terrible for media? It's one of the main uses of the bigger screen (else I'd use my phone).

Good to have S-pen but bad to not include the pen placeholder in the tablet.

                a welcome development

I hope this thing comes with at least 64GB internal memory, 128GB would be even nicer. What's the crazy idea of the S Pen being standalone? Duh. I would not want to lose that.

I just want to be finally upgrading from the Note 8.0. It just has to have an S Pen to be worthy.

Its far too early to say much at all about Apple or Microsoft or Google's vision for what the ideal tablet, or tablet/laptop hybrid, should look like. If theres one thing the Pixel C does make clear, its that the future isnt settled. Its as much 4:3 as it 3:2 as it is 1:2, as it is whatever else is in the pipeline. They all have their own pros n cons.

samsung: remove bezel and keep fast responsive UI with good LTE support and camera... and keep it slim and light.. thats all...
stylus is passe since 2006 windows phone stylus pens for res. screen .... always get lost and usability advantage questionable

Finally a decent descendant of Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Up until we'd either get second rate Tab As and gargantuan Tab Pros...

The specs are not up there (mid-range for 2017) but they're good enough. The only thing that needs fixing still is the terrible aspect ratio. Google uses 3:2, Microsoft too, time for Samsung to follow suit. 4:3 is so 20th century... I don't even know why Apple is still using it (probably their new 10.5 inch model won't though - so Samsung remains alone in using such a bad aspect ratio).
