IMO dual core wasnt necessary on a smartphone, like a SE approachment releasing just a single processor was enough to handle all of the mobile apps, i know dual core were fast but then its just a processor, why would you need a mobile phone that require u to recharge everyday? Dualcore like SGSII need to be recharge after 6 hrs of moderated used, dont u think that was a pleasant task to do? Yea if you own one i bet u were smiling by using a dualcore phone that very fast in handling it task, but im not sure wheather u were also keep that good smile while looking for a wall plug to recharge it so frequently..

Cheers

        SE X Arc 509 euro
        SE X play 579 euro
        LG Optimus 2x 529 euro
        HTC Incred S 529 euro
Sams. Galaxy S II 609 euro (WTF)

Even the old HTC Desire 409 euro

Both those Arc and those "updated" HTC models are way to expensive

The SE X Neo 389 euro
This is 20 euro's more than the Acer liquid metal. And that model has the 800Mhz cpu, 5Mpixel camera.
The only thing holding me back is the measly 320MB memory.

Sony say the processor is the new generation Scorpion, not the Snapdragon.

And in regards to Dual core processors, I'm pretty sure 2.3 doesn't utilize dual cores properly anyway, it's not optimised for it. Also, I'm certain Sony are confident in SE's Play, otherwise they wouldn't have given it the Playstation certification.

and a gaming hardware should need all the processing power it can get.

play for game nerds seriously normal people will not buy that phone. Neo is just ugly and people will prefer the arc over this. Pro is equipped with QWERTY so it's sutied to US but SE sells poorly in US so will not be a hit. Conclusion except for Arc none of these phones are for the mass public but for like minor groups. Even Arc will not sell well against dual-core phones like samsung galaxys2, lg optimus 3d+2X and Motorla Atrix

A lot of factors come into play then just pure specs alone.

For someone who will not utilise the phone to its fullest, single core and dual core does not present much of a difference.

Some people go for design, and the new SE range is certainly attractive.

Even the gamepad factor alone might drive sales for the Play regardless of a long list of specs.

                    Here's the thing...
The processor is just as powerful as the Nexus S.
So hardware wise, anything the Nexus S gets, these new SE phones can get as well.

SE also promised to keep up to date with the OS, as this they felt was their mistake in 2010. There was an official statement~ go read it.
