So if people are going to have buttons extent right to the bottom and top of the screen without permanend nav buttons there, reach is going to be even further compromised as far as screen height is concerned.
Why hide the nav buttons on such a tall screen? No content is that tall so why use the extra space when it is a) hard to reach and, b) means the nav buttons hide all the time (annoying).

If that's the final design then it looks fantastic, but then again those of us who have used multiple Samsungs before, well the real story lies beneath that looks, and that couldn't be more scary.
