The camera they kerp talking about has no dual optical image stabilzation in 4K, has no basic controls like sharpness and saturation. It's a big lie.

Just compare V20, Mate 9 & Mate 9 Pro and check UK Pound and subway map of low light photo. Pro not has AMOLED (but sans SD card). It seems to be a different phone. Lets see its audio performance as well. I still don't plan on buying a Huawei phone at around 2000$. It is crazy. Who would buy a Seiko watch at Rolex price? :)

I was just saying people should not rely so much on bench mark artificial ratings because they are not always accurate, am always a believer of real life performance. I remember gsmarena one gave p9 plus an average battery rating, but in real usage afterwards it turned out to have a good endurance rating!

But for a 4000 mAh battery and a 1080p screen it should ideally score higher. That's why I think the Mate 9 can be optimized even further.....

Good looking phone, Huawei! It's also nice that their UI seems more stock now than it was a few iterations before.
Considering that the regular Mate 9 endures for 83 hours (only for it's relatively large battery), it'll be interesting to see how the change to QHD AMOLED will affect the battery life of the Mate 9 Pro....

Anyway back to my point; i just want you to understand nowdayz its easy to get any smarphone from most manufacturers that are flagship level at reasonable price, From specs, camera, performence and quality. An example is the One plus 3/3T it has proven to be a worthy performer even kicking ass of the top flagship phones, maybe only camera that is not considered flagship level but again the camera is not bad at All...it will do for most people. So my point is the days of certain company holding on to the crown of premium phones is over!!! Many Chinese companies are proving to be really worthy and really doing a marvellous job

Hahaaaaa haaa, so according to you Samsung and Apple are the only premium brands??!!! Are you starting to use smartphones recently??!! Do you really have any idea what Huawei is?? Do you think huawei only makes smartphones?? Do you know huawei caters for almost 70-80% of telecommunication industry in the world?? So keep your eyes on chinesse manufacturers they are soon going to concur the world economy. And for your information i consider Nokia to be most premium brand that ever happened!!!

AnonD-145316, 09 Feb 2017Keep whining hahaaa lol!!! people like cant just accept Hua... moreDo you know why VW (which is the biggest car manufacturer in the world; even surpassed Toyota) doesn't manufacture any premium segment cars (VW is the biggest group of car company with some of the most prestigious car brands as well like Bentley, Bugatti, Porsche)?
BECAUSE, premium segment is hold by Mercedes and BMW (concerning annual turnover from premium models; don't count BMW 1, 2 & 3 series). Even Audi (another VW company) struggles hard to sell premium cars (A6 and above models) against Merc & BMW.
Apple and Samsung are only premium brands. The rest is the story. Huawei is unfortunately not even a VW but a Hyundai!
NOW, coming to Mate 9 story, it has IPS, 0.3V of audio output, above average camera, low power battery BUT fashionable body. Sales will show if it is enough or not (it is not my business at all)! :-)

I guess Huawei management lost common sense!
                              Mate 9=IPS+SD
Mate 9 Pro=AMOLED No SD (whose ill decision to subtract that SD card slot?)
They have 0.3V of audio output (try to feed that low signal to an amplifier or high impedance headphone, you will need to pump up the volume to highest levels). Camera never comes even nearby to iPhone7-G5-V20-S7 level (compare low light photos in this site and see by yourself; if you are not blind, you will see the huge difference). Huawei low light studio photo is soft with less detail and contrast (I have been using DSLR equipment for more than 13 years and read LOTS of reviews with studio photo comparison). Audio is crap, photo is average... I can only say WTF!
BUT this phone is sold at similar price of a iPhone 7 128GB
I guess Huawei tries to gain a personality by pumping up the prices artifically based on NOTHING which has technically inferior specs against well made strong phones (which use expensive parts). Apart from its appearance, V20 is light years ahead of this crap but even it can not sold.
Sorry Huawei, but you are neither Apple nor Samsung. IMHO, any Chinese phone is similar (in my book Huawei, Xiaomi, ZTE and even HTC has similar image). HTC made this terrible pricing mistake (and still does by the way). LG is also in the same brand value category but slightly higher than these Chinese brands.
One can buy 3 pieces of Xiaomi Mi Max 64GB at the same price of a Mate 9 64GB. Mate 9 is even 50% more expensive than P9 Plus! Sorry but I am LMAO :-))))))))))))

                                I know I know - why 2 fingerprint readers?
I just have a feeling it's gonna happen.

I don't mind the copycat design of this. They'll never match the superior quality of Samsungs flagships or convince anyone they innovate. It's just the Chinese (smart phone) design way. (No disrespect!)

I've tried this one and my first impressions is " this reminds me of the Galaxy S6 edge+ gold platinum".

The front l... moreThat's the difference between Chinese companies and companies from other countries. Chinese can do almost whatever they want and no one can't do anything. Their phones were looking like iPhones, like Samsung devices and all good.
Apple tried to sue Chinese companies couple times for phones which are too similar to iPhones.. And? Don't think that they got any dollar.
Probably Chinese manufactures don't even care since their local market is big enough.
