Everyone knows whats behind HMD & Nokia, and people are still targeting the brand Nokia. Its been a while this is in news and all of us know the thing. Still some repeat these lines, "its not the same Nokia, its HMD, etc etc". Get your facts right.

They are catching up, soon will cover up what was lost in past years. Non-fans will continue complaining.

HMD built NOKIA feature phone in its original NOKIA plant in Vietnam.. Only it was bought by Microsoft and now bought back by HMD.. HMD will build NOKIA smartphone in its original NOKIA plant only it was bought by Microsoft and Microsoft sold it to Foxconn.. That is why HMD asks FOXCONN to build the phone for them.. Because they want the NOKIA phone produced to be as original as they can be.. Where else should they be producing then?

Looks like some legacy materials being used up. It is clear from a simple Google search that Microsoft is gone from the business.

Anonymous, 09 Feb 2017"HMD Global" is nor "Nokia"! HMD Global have the right to u... moreHMD Global bought Nokia from Microsoft since Nokia Finland's ties with Microsoft got expired last September 2016 after their agreement that dated back in September 2014. HMD does not just own the brand "Nokia", they own Nokia itself now. HMD will engineer Nokias with AndroidOS in it. Production will be done through FoxConn which was a former Nokia facility but was bought by a Chinese group of companies. Now, you underestimate FoxConn? well they are the same manufacturer for Acer, Apple, Dell HP, Sony, Toshiba, Xiaomi, want more? they also manufactured your Cisco, Nintendo, PlayStation and many more. It does not mean that if it's from China, it already sucks at quality, always remember, the quality of the product depends on the budget and materials given, not jus the makers.

By the way, HMD is composed of former Nokia Execs, engineers, and Microsoft laid-off workers.

That is probably just limited to those little type devices and feature ones and not the big smart phones which they will do elsewhere. They have a whole other investment for phones that has nothing to do with Microsoft.

Feature phone factories and Nokia brand on feature phone market were acquired by Foxconn, not by HMD. HMD doesn't have anything to do with that. HMD owns brand for smartphone and tablet markets.

In fact rebranding is a task of post production of last supply.
When time table of production of last scheduled goods meet the last point, contracts will take effect and everything will be rebranded to the current owner desired brands.

Every country has their issues with manufacturing, the difference here is can you even accept that. It's not under your control so don't worry about it too much.

I hope HMD can produce 3G capable basic phones that can ship to the US, I don't think any of the older 3G Nokias from 2014 and beyond are usable on US 3G Bands.
