The components must be ageing faster because of the folding and expand action and the battery room and also the flexible flat cable (FFC) will be ageing too.

Like Samsung round before it ... it won't sell. Unless they start bring those features to their main phones ... those features will continuously die off... pity, it was a potentially good idea. They just killed it...

Seamless hinge integration that never wears out. Expand? Did you really read the article? Its not using normal material like glass and metal in normal smartphone. Its using PI (polyimide)-based plastic.

This isn't a flip phone, this is a foldable screen flip phone. Meaning that a 5" phone can actually turn into a 7-8" tablet, without having a visible hinge in the middle that splits it in two.

I am not interested by this fragile unit, this must not a sturdy unit. The action of "fold and expand" to the flexible phone will making the components ageing and the battery will be extruded to become unstable and last explode or catching fire.

Anonymous, 10 Feb 2017What the benefit of foldable phone.. aaaaa there we go it w... moreImagine the phone is around 8mm thick folded. 4mm thick opened. From 10inch tablet to 4-5 inch smartphone. Its supposedly like a clamshell design except that the flexible screen is on the outside of the shell, folded. Pretty much the same as Lenovo concept.
If the concept is exactly like the one Samsung patented then it kinda pointless. Its thick, fold it and it become even thicker. Its like a wallet full of money that you feel uncomfortable putting inside your pocket.
