Thinnking if rumors are true and G6 will cost 50$ less than a s8!

I would rather gamble with that 50$ or just go and buy something with that same good, old and tested technologies, but for much lower price.

SoC don't have to be a game changer, but they need to know that devices with that SoC already costs around 500$ and that they can't charge G6 similar to s8.
If they make G6 sweet deal with its pricing, it won't matter which SoC it comes with. But, since it's LG... It will be hard to choose g6 and not to give 50$ for a s8, or 300 less for s7, HTC10 or even g5 with same hardware

100 atoms.then consider the 10nm process,The yeild is low.It is complicated to make.We will need new technologies to built 5nm and less chipsets.
Samsung has used SD chips in america and china with the exemption of galaxy s6

As you probably know (from a consumer perspective) buying the latest technology is always "not the smartest" move. Do you remember those that bought a 4K TVs years ago? Do you remember the price for 4k? It was a stupid thing to do. But if you buy a 4k TV now, the price is small and yet technology is not widespread at all. I would go for LG over Samsung any time. Why? In Europe, LG is always cheaper. Especially used LGs have good values (and in 2017 grabbing a LG G5 is a win-win combination). G6 will be considerably cheaper then S8. Naturally, S835 is more powerful chip, but the gap is small and user experience is (if you ask me) the same, no matter which high-end chip one uses. The fact is that manufacturing 10nm chips is going to be over-expensive in 2017, and probably also in 2018...

I think this should serve as a reason for LG to revice their in house ODIN chip project. I was really excited when rumours were going around about the ODIN chipset (and that was before the launch of the G3) I think by now the project would be yielding results, maybe not enough to have released the G6 with an ODIN chip but enough to start testing it on their other devices with the intention of deploying on the next G range or V range. Maybe they can go into business with a Co. like TSMC (they come up with ideas eg. smaller/faster/cooler chip or whatever) they share their advances with Co. X and Co. X in turn manufactures the chips for them. Cuts costs of soucing chips and brings competion to the chip segment (of course I am making this up so it could be that the idea is not feasible).

he screenshot could have come from anywhere.

It's not confirmed until LG makes an official statement. Until then this is rumor.

Good, it allows the costs down and does not buy into the hype (just 20% faster in actual performance).

Now I hope they'll up the memory (the one thing that actually matters in every day performance) and beat Samsung in their own turf (Samsung is using only 4GB and despite the slightly better SoC they will lose badly to a phone with higher ram).

Easy answer; business! If other competitor delay launching because of that, that will mess they plan whole year. And that become guarantee that S8 line will be top seller flagship in 2017. Greedy and Brilliant move! They know how to spend their money!

Plus: Samsung SD phone line sell better than Exynos line, if they have enough money, they will probably monopoly successor of SD625 next year, why? To limit movement of China midranger (Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, Nokia is main target). This common in business, just like Toyota do and Chevy do and Mercy do!

Samsung made SD chipsets since 2015/2016 and there were not such problems. The fire broke out in PRODUCTION HALL of SDI factory from UNFINISHED products- the local firefighter deployed over 100 firefighter and 19 vehicles so they should know well where they were. Samsung can do what they want with 835 chipsets but it can't save them from loads of trouble they are in now.

Samsung actually uses the snapdragon chips only in the US version of the Galaxy S series. the international version gets the exynos variant. Yet Samsung is cutting off the competition at the early stages. What an idjit.

Stop complain! This business kid. S8 will sell and sell, rocket with SD835 if no "fire in the hole" like Note 7. Why? it Samsung, mammoth budget for expanse market almost every country, great relation with many online shop, plus latest SD and campaign this the ultimate SD for now!

Leave they alone, other vendor must make plane carefully to survive this year of darkness.

Delay production? Suicide! Launch with SD821? If the price dont right, collapse! Hope LG G6 twin camera work better than they will survive.
