If Samsung invented teleportation the posts on this site would still be the same, they would credit it to apple and mock Samsung. Here is the truth, The experience is fantastic, it will be better. If you are not ungratefull or critical you will get immersed and the fine pixel grid loses prominence with you and its great, if you have poor eye sight that may not be an option. 4k phones will nail it, but you could not expext people to skew the feature "race" , by prematurely wasting bullets early just for Vr. My ONLY, concern is the thought of early captive battery life due to much more battery use and a hotter type of battery use, but, the experience is unmissable. This article, typical of this site, subliminaly seeks to polute Samsung for apple reasons, read, we are told, though we "naturally think of Oculus or Vive(who the heck is vive ?)" dismissing even Samsung's name, we are then at some point ,with their teeth gritted, told, that indeed it is S A M S U N G who have 4.5 million of the 6m sales ,and though we know the word Gear and Vr are married in our minds, we are lied to, that having sold a few hundred thousand we should allow our selves to be subliminaly manipulated into dismissing Samsung altogether and displacing them with the struggling htc. Get it, great story for Samsung ,...neutralised. Who's money "owns" this site now ?

What about the latency? There is always a small delay when I turn my head fast enough. Having people "puking in the halls" is no joke, they should seriously fix nausea issues.
It's a product that no serious company would make, it screams pre-alpha. It is a good idea with very, very (*very*) bad implementation.
It reminds me the first iphone that was ready in 2005. It was so bad that rumour says that Jobs fired the head of that department and trashed the whole project , only to having it start from scratch.
That's how someone who loves money should have done with this. What a disaster of a product...

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2017Glad the world doesn't revolve around your foolishness. The... moreNo sufficient technology is not there for good VR. Like early smartphones it will fail. It was not foolish to say that O2 XDA would not post many sales (as it didn't ), it's not foolish to say that VR is too early in phones too.
Problem is that by being so early it may actually burn any chance to get good VR any time soon. The industry typical distances itself from failures ... had VR not attempted so prematurely we may had mature VR faster...
The only thing current technology can do well is netflix viewing. But even in that Samsung failed by insisting in those terrible QHD panels that make for the worse viewing experience imaginable (like watching old TV due to the low resolution for VR). Funny thing is that they had 4k panels ready for production for 2 years now... they shot themselives in the foot
So yeah, Samsung is/was not serious about the market, just a bandwagon. No wonder it failed.
BTW due to Qualcomm leading the pack (in sales) we don't get rapidly advancing SoCs either. Qualcomm is not Apple, they like to take their time posting far smaller gains YoY...

Content is growing, development is picking up, displays better, and SoC's more powerful with better efficiency.
Obviously you have to start from the beginning just like anything else in reality. You can't just wake up and be advanced. We have to get there. But it's already at a good place.
You might be too blind to enjoy it but many others are not so close minded. And they are enjoying it

Haha , still useless.
Unless they make a 4k phone specifically targeting movie viewing (hint: not gonna) this kind of hype will die off...
It's sad too as it could potentially be a giant industry. Oh well, if they don't care, I don't care...
