Google App v6.13 to bring Google Assistant to non-Pixels, or at least maybe

An alpha build of the app floating around also enables payments within Google Assistant and comes with lite mode and recent search features.

I don't get all the hype with Google Assistant being available on Pixel devices... and only now being made available to non-pixels via a new version of Google App. Maybe all this for accessing Google Assistant directly with a single button... otherwise Google Assistant has been available for a while now as part of Google's Allo IM app and that app is available on several non-Google devices including Moto phones (I use it on Moto X Play). Google Assistant simply appears as another friend in the chat list and one can communicate with it via voice etc...

      That's awesome if it's going to be available to non-Pixel devices!
      I've tried it on my P9, doesn't work - but hopefully it will in the stable release :)

        Google is never going to be able to make a successful phone branded with their name, if they insist on giving away the best features of their devices and software to their competitors.

                It doesnot support in my Moto x style 2015, rather it just freezes my Google app... Also it's very buggy

                  I liked google now on tap.practically i feel that it is more usable than G.assistant. i dont want to speak to phone in public 😜.

                    Didn't work for me atleast. Everything got freezed on clicking mic icon on my Nexus 6P. Home doesn't work. Had to uninstall updates.
