Nnnoooooo! Nokia should win this! Best game, best 3rd party softwares, smooth scrolling on thousands of messages, and songs, no lags while listening to music, what else? And you dont have to tap twice because you know you tap it. And OTG sets the bar on innovation it is very usefull, because you can ask everyone to insert usb drive to your n8 for nothing,

how can it be awarded best mobile phone when it cannot serve this role?worst calling quality in gsmarena review,worst speaker phone,worst camera deathgrip,yellow tints on screen,breaks easily,manufactured 150 dollars sold 800 !!!fake multitasking. The award should be given to a real mobile phone n8!!hd voice calling quality,pentaband 3g,better camera,better audio,hdmi,usb otg,free navigation,bluetooth 3.0 and much more... apple only know how to still nokia's technology and brag about it!iphone is only for apps.(3/4 apps are for morrons)1/4 good laggy games

This thing made my day :D... iPhone 4 was always the best but people realize it a little late... and people talking about its limitations never JB there iPhone so sad... not Jb iPhone 4 is like using iPhone 2g..

A good photographer would never want his snaps to get colors that wasn't even there in the scene. Iphone's self imposed saturation and brightness is only good for amature photographers. N8 gives what we see from our naked eye not what the camera wants to show. Iphone4 gives what most people want and hence it has gained more popularity. 99% people doesn't care if their snaps look real or not. But its the truth that those 99% are amature photographers. N8 camera=realistic photography ; iphone4 camera= (whatever else you think of).

Iphone4 is way way better than symbian^3, no question about it. What i meant earlier was the hardware of nokia. The stuffs like hdmi, Usb OTG, best snapper and penta band 3g etc. The things you said are what comes with the OS. A person will buy a phone like iphone only if he is guaranteed customer service and apps whose prices are based on his country's money format. Why will i get myself stuck with a device which can do nothing good to me. Yes, if i had been a resident of USA etc then i would definately go for iphone4. No doubt about it. But never here, never.

It is reasons like this that make me wish things were like when I first got a cell phone 14 years ago. You had to pay a $1000 deposit and have a credit card on file for charges. At least then we knew we would see true advances aimed at the people who matter, and not garbage like iPhone for the sheep. If it wasn't for contracts iPhone would not exist because very few people would pay $800 - $1000 for technology the rest of us had 1 or 2 years ago. (Save for the screen). Apple can get away with what it does because the average person just isn't that smart. For most people an Apple product is like a laser to a cat. It's shiny and looks nice, but it has no substance. Unfortunately with the average person being barely above the intelligence of the cat, it is successful.

And even with the N8's 12mp camera, the iphone4's camera takes better video, and the iphone's still camera is at par with that of the N8's, and sometimes even better in some situations with the iphone's hdr feature. Leaving bt file transfer as the only advantage of the n8, lol. But who bluetooths all day? Also, it's not like bluetooth is the only way to send files across. But there's no solution or workaround to the n8's shortcomings. Iphone wins. And again, read this article if you doubt me :)

ive got the SGS and have done for a few months now and i have to say its a lovely fone, but i understand y iphone4 won and SGS didnt, its because of the lateness of the froyo, the lags and needed a third party app to sort that out, and the dam video mic is useless. if samsung sorted them tiny things out they would of had it large with SGS and the awards. just hope SGS2 is upto it, but i dont see a camera key. ggggrrrhhhh. iphone purely for there support, market, video camera. im not gonna say its shell coz even tho the SGS feels like its gonna snap, it is very strong and i dont have a single scratch on it so for the light weight of it i do prefer SGS

Well what can I say, Nokia sucks. Of all the time and OSes in the world, it's silly management choose to have their prime technology switched and ventured into unknown waters. Let just hope it will someday find its way back, with died hard fans waiting it.

Apple's iOS is their very own. And is way more successful than Bada. The iphone is still dominant even with just one device. It's exclusive, not fragmented like android is. Overall, the iphone is still the best device.

Compare it to the iphone that breaks easily and the n8 comes out a winner. Usb otg is a must have feature and pretty soon people will realize how good it is and maybe even android will copy it. The s^3 is the most powerful and feature pack os out there and whatever android can do the s^3 can do it much better. It does things better without using so much battery life like android does. Symbian is so much better than ios and android combined We all know that nothing can compare to this phone in value, looks, and features and that is why it should have been phone of the year and nokia the best manufacturer of the year. You guys are just in denial. Nokia n8 is the best!

But the reason it can't beat iphone4 is because of the background support of nokia. Not to mention the screen being only 1/3rd of that of iphone4. But why are we even compairing these two handsets. Iphone4 is way costlier. If n8 had been priced the same as iphone4 then i bet that it would have had things like tegra2 and 300+ ppi screen. But considering the fact that its been a product of nokia, its not gonna happen.
Btw, n8 beats iphone4 in everything else except the application availability. If i am asked which phone i wanna buy even if i had the cash to go for an iphone4, i would still go for n8 as it makes more sense in where i live (India). Iphone4 is useless without apps and games. If only apple had better services in india, nokia would have been crying by now. Indian smartphone market ruler is nokia and its not gonna change too soon. I believe WinMo7 will be a hit here.

as usual iPhone4 is the phone...it was from the very beggining that ip4 would be the best phone.....wahtever people say it can't change nd it will never change cuz it will take other companies yearS to reach the level of apple....nd when people will understand that the death grip is no more!! though now it is with the verizon versions.... i bought iphone4 wwaay back in october nd its going solid like a rock NEVER ever xperienced any death grips!!...no matter how many apps or games i keep running or even jailbreaking wchich was supposed to slow down your device like the previous 3g or 3gs BUT this never slows down...and this is the beauty of this iphone4...Excellent device...
nd N8 users...u call it the best phone?...poor...bad screen,bad browser,bad youtube viewing,bad apps,bad appstore,bad OS,good camera

i was given a chance to test 3 phones by a gadget magazine: N8 was one, iPhone 4, and HTC Desire.
N8 was straight out of the box and i did not put any widgets nor connected it to internet. it was just empty and bare so i can test it fresh. and man, it was very annoying and the interface was jumpy and lagging. opening an app isnt so smooth.
the iPhone 4 with tons of music and 5 videos and with 11 apps open in the background including a game, was snappier. the HTC Desire was actually snappier too compared to N8.
Symbian is so old fashioned. If they want to stay in the game, they should make a drastic change. their old OS style and strategy is sinking.
