How would you explain to someone that benchmarks arent everything? everyone i know is convinced exynos variant is much faster and snappier than snapdragon and people say its overall superior to snapdrago in speed. how would you explaint ot them benchmark isn't everything.
and yeah exactly. Thats why I think LCD is sitll superior in almost every way to amoled. Not only is it superior color and sharpness, but also lasts longer. Thats why sony only needs 1080p while samsung has 2k screen and still not as sharp.
LCD might be an old tech. But it has been refined and new technolgies have been implemented over the years. and with the Joint parternship that is JDI more advancments are coming their way including new improvments in OLED that will far exceed and solve many of th issues found in other amoleds. Research universities and laborataries are sharing their findings in OLED with JDI (SOny, toshiba, hitatchi partnership) and they'll make superior OLED This will be good for sony because it means thinner display and less battery. JDI will also be sharing their knowledge with JOLED. which is focused on TV's while JDI focuses on smartphone or smaller displays.
and yeah thats true about battery. My friend who has the XZ says his battery life is better than the s7 edge. So idk batteries are everywhere. People are saying that the XZ has horrible battery life.
not to mention sony has qnovo.

It's just what I hear. i kno... moreBoth Exynos 8890 and SnapDragon 820 are manufactured in the same fabrication of 14nm process, and the SnapDragon 820 should even be better at power efficiency because it's just a Quad Core processor while the Exynos 8890 is an Octa Core SoC. The battery difference lies beneath the software optimization in which the XZ is better, battery capacity in which the S7 Edge is stronger, and probably the biggest factor is the display, which S7 Edge once again has the upper lead. Super AMOLEDs are excellent for watching videos, colorful images, UI, etc. but displaying whites for too long like Web Browsing would instantly kill the battery life of AMOLEDs since they don't have a backlight. Even when AMOLEDs progress, they still can't change the known fact that AMOLEDs have shorter lifespan than LCDs, and not that every person in the world changes their phones yearly unless you are American or you live in Europe

Its just the fact that they wanna keep the battery near 3000mAh which is why they have to increase the bezels. This year with Toshiba's ultra dense UFS 2.1 3D NAND memory, the size of the NAND chips are significantly smaller, the Snapdragon 835 is smaller in size and RAM chips are also smaller in size thanks to 18nm DRAM. The overall size of all components will decrease significantly and if the battery is made slightly thicker instead of longer, that may be a big key to cutting bezels. Also speakers should not be an excuse for having bezels, Sony's A1E OLED TVs use speakerless vibration technology and I bet they could miniaturize or move speakers more inwards while retaining or possibly even improving sound quality and increasing volume. They should include physical buttons if the bezels still remain the same size.

It's just what I hear. i know for sure exynos is bad with graphical performance but many people say it's faster and more energy efficient. And also, people say that the s7 has much better battery life compared to the XZ so people tend to say that exynos is better. I too am not sure how much I'd buy that.

Yes, even an SD 425 phone can be a company's flagship - if that is already the best phone they make. Of course in practice, companies put an SD 820 or close in a phone that they call their flagship.

People complain about bezels but forget the fact Xperia has bigger cam sensor.
Size is 1/2.3".
Also it is placed above screen, not behind it. When you place it behind screen you have to make thicker phone or let your cam ugly like s6 or moto z.
Even if it does not have OIS.

Screen/body ratio of 79% is more than enough.
Before Xiaomi decides to copy Sharp Aquos Crystal nobody was complaining about bezels.
