what makes apple so especial is that they are good on copying and make those iboys scream for their glory celebrating the piece of technology that came out for the past 3 or 4 years, pathetic.

These bokeh effect should happen naturally when doing close up especially with today's large aperture cameras.. Other phones can do it with just one camera.. Why the hell does Apple limits this feature only for iPhone 7 plus? regular iPhone users must be sad LOL

This coming from guy who saying how good that totally unnatural looking artificial crap coming from HTC M8 is :D i didn't even knew M8 was able to do that, and when i did research last nigh, im not surprised because it looked so crappy and unnatural. Also you add the effect later to photo. IPhone does it real time, you see the results when you take photo.
The M8 is joke http://images.techhive.com/images/idge/imported/article/ctw/2014/03/31/htc-one-m8-dual-camera-3-100388431-orig.jpg it looks like photoshopping gone wrong very badly

This feature is out there since more than 3 years on Google camera. Fun fact you don't even need dual camera to adjust the focus.

I am using this feature on my HTC One M8 for last 3 years and that is more flexible than this... i.e. I can control the blur amount etc.
What a joke from Apple, yet again.

I bet Samsung's dual-pixel camera sensor can do the same thing. Read image depth info when the shot is taken and save it, then use it while processing to blur the portion of the picture that is too far from the subject. Use depth info like magic wand select tool from Photoshop. Since you already have depth info for every pixel, it should be even more precise than iPhone's dual-camera setup. You could easily blur the background to your liking even after the shot has been made (if you saved depth data with the image itself).
It could be impossible at this point of time, if Samsung programmers didn't think about it when they made the camera and depth map data is lost after focusing is done, its not saved when the picture is made.
Kudos to Apple for the idea :D

Great Simple Ads. But I have a feeling those end results shown on the iPhone's screen look too good to be true.....

Note7 owner, 16 Feb 2017Another nail in the coffin of dslr makers. These fake bokeh from the iPhone 7 sucks. It's an insult to professional photographers and their DSLR.

10/10
Im ad maker and usually companies want to make very long spots telling everythig they can, but like these perfect ads shows, just keep it simple and short and have a clear message and it works so much better.
These ads hit all the right spots
