McKnull, 18 Feb 2017You have that to your phone or what?
I am using AdBlocker ... moreYes you can get it for phone too it's YouTube AdAway. This is a simple module to help you get rid of ads on the official YouTube App, it also supports YouTube TV/Gaming/Kids
I never had any youtube ads on my Nubia Z11 thanks to wanam the author!

I do understand that Youtube basically offers content hosting in exchange for ad views, but I DON'T DO ads, none, in any format, no exceptions - so that leaves us with a bit of a problem. Not so large of a problem right now considering adblockers let me literally never see an ad, but a problem nevertheless. If the issue gets forced in the future, I will do whatever it takes to not actually see those ads - I'm pretty sure there'll always be a way, and no matter how extreme, I'll be using it. And yes, I would be willing to pay a modest sum in exchange for ad-free-ness, but it would have to be 100% ad-free and a really modest sum indeed...

Anyone here ever used similar Chinese video sharing/streaming websites? 60 second unskippable ads at the beginning of every video. Absolute nightmare.

I NEVER EVER watch those ads,the more they advertise the brand the more I hate that brand. I never click on banners, never going to force me into anything. Yeah, I'm marketing people's worst nightmare....

I simply reload the video 1-2 times in a row. The easiest way to skip those ads.

I have Firefox on my phone. I configured it to always open the full desktop version of all sites.
Open this page:
about:config
Find and change this to 0.8 (it's -1 by default, you might have to try out different values because phones have different screen resolution so they need different value, because websites check the screen resolution/browser width to align the page, you might also have to rotate the phone):
layout.css.devPixelsPerPx
Set a desktop user agent too.
Install Fit Text to Width addon.
I also installed Ublock Origin. So I watch the full desktop version of youtube without ads.
I don't understand why do people use specific apps of websites instead of visiting them through the browser.
