000, 20 Feb 2017Honestly snapchat is the only "social media" I don't get. W... moreHmmmm, it's a bit complicated to explain. People either cannot live with Snapchat or they have absolutely no idea how to use it. Mainly people use Snapchat to send their stories, generally share their life and fool around with their friends using various filters.
Unlike Facebook or Instagram or Twitter, people don't think self-consciously before posting on Snapchat because they know that these stories only remain for 24 hours for your friends to see and if you're sending it as a message then that person only gets to see it once. Also, unlike in FB, twitter & instagram, you can see who has viewed your post.
Also since there are no likes & retweets, they don't have to worry about gathering appreciation either. And at the end of it all, you can also see all the snaps you have sent in your personal Memories feed, like a documentary of the fun you had in your life.
Basically Snapchat is for the well-connected, foolin' around, livin life-in-the-moment millennials, but it's definitely not everybody's cup of tea. It all boils down to your friends and family. If your friends are using Snapchat actively to send snaps and stories, then you are probably missing out on the fun. But if they are not using Snapchat, then you are fine (ignorance is bliss)!
