aka lower quality panels than Sharp. Samsung QLED, LG OLED, and Sony OLED are all disappointing crap with underwhelming performance compared to the Sony X900E which offers you >1200 nits peak brightness with inky black levels that approach OLED territory for a price

and people still shit on LCD yet samsung will be relying on it heh

The LCDs will only serve the low end market segment for Samsung since Samsung has fully switched to making OLED panels. Since the demand for OLED panels is on the rise, Samsung just needs to outsource the LCD panels to a different company. LCD can be found in most HD Samsung TVs and Computer displays. But when it comes to FHD and QHD displays, Samsung uses the OLED and it is the demand of the OLED that has made Samsung to stop producing LCDS.

Such a move also helps Samsung to avoid being viewed as monopolistic the way Bill Gates did with Apple back in the days.

I don't understand LG uses IPS LCDs on the other hand Samsung uses VA LCDs so will LG make VAs solely for Samsung or will Samsung start using IPSs ?

Back in the day when the iPhone didn't exist and the king was Nokia, I used to go on DoCoMo's website and drool at Japanese smartphones. They were so far ahead I felt loke lookingiinto the future! Flip phones that could rotate the display, double displays, TV antenna and the list goes on. It's good to see now we are almost on the same lavel, but it's sad that Sharp doesn't go for a real high-end flagship that is available worldwide. Their cool phones never leave Japan.
We should all be thankful to Sharp for being the first to introduce us the bezeless displays.

Sharp TV's have in recent years been below par to say the least, hence I think their decision is good to start concentrating on making good TV's again.
