How can i rely on it? manufacturers are so slow to adopt it. The quicker micro usb dies the better.

Let's say there are 3 billion people worldwide that are owning at least a smart gadget which would have some sort of charging port. If a generous 1% of these people are frequent visitors of this website of which 0.5% participated in the poll, the final result means nothing. It has nothing to do with reality

It's plain stupid that most companies are providing USB-C with only flagship grade phones. Rest of the phones still get the old standard. Sadly,this way we'll never reach uniformity.

Meanwhile Tesla (no, not the electric toy cars inventor) invented whireless electricity 100 years ago but he was forced to shut up and give them all his paperwork so nobody would find out cos it would have been FREE!

Yeah I don't know anyone who has a type C phone, and I live in Canada. The public charging stations in the malls etc frequently don't have the type C chargers yet. It's still niche but clearly the plug of the future. Wish it was smaller though, not sure why it's bigger than the older micro USB. That said, I personally use wireless charging pretty much exclusively so it matters way less these days. I wouldn't mind my phone not having any USB port actually.

USB Type-C is the future. It's so easy and comfortable to use, without any annoyances..

I think less are using type c than we think. As there was a recent article about a very small percentage have flagship phones in the world. Basically most people here are in the small percentage but in reality type c is not even close to that percentage in the general throughout the world. I say give it another full year for this percentage to be accurate.
