They set out creating new projects with great vigor and enthusiasm as if it's going to be the next big thing, then as time passes by, they quietly drop the endeavor, can the project and move on to other pastures.

      I'm all for innovation and new discoveries but not at the cost of wasting precious resources without any ultimate fruit.

          No direction at Google. How many messaging apps are we on now? How many products/services end up getting the plug pulled before they can even gain traction? Pretty much everything not named Gmail; the rest are forgotten by history without even a courtesy public source code dump for someone else to pick up. You get what you pay for.
