best update is to scrap symbian and go down the android route. hence why nokia are not the top phone makers anymore.

Hello, I just would like to say that, being not-so-proud Nokia E72 owner, I don't really care about this particular brand anymore. Have they solved intermittent 'memory full' issue on our handsets? No. Can I open more than 2 and 1/2 apps at the same time? Errr, again it's a resounding no. Do they care? No. Ovi? Fail. Brand loyalty? Talk to Steve Balmer.
Do I plan to spend my hard earned money on Nokia products in the future?

Nokia is dead!
They absolutely don't know what they are doing!! Symbian is such a not suitable OS for touch input!! Then they run in the arms of Microsoft, the company that failed utterly in the mobile space so many times (Windows Mobile, Kin phones, now WP7)
Bye bye Nokia, will tell my kids that in the early 2000's there was a company that was at the top of the world and within a few deadly mistakes they panicked and shuffled themselves into the grave.

The hummingbird processor maybe faster dan n8's broadcom and arm11
but still check their resolutions 640x360 of N8 and 800x480
N8's gpu is enough to render all graphics at that resolution. but sgs may need to coz of high res.

My previous N97 has this feature and it's my favorite feature cause i can listen to all the songs on the phone through my hifi wirelessly additionally ones finish playing with the eq settings- it sounds just as high quality as cd. That's why i don't wanna sell my N97 just for this feature, you can rarely see this feature nowadays. Whatever it is Galaxy S II is a perfect phone(specs wise). In fact it'll be my next phone=D

About video-recording and "sound quality", it's better wait to some comparassions, but I guarantee you, no other phone on the market yet can do HD videos with better sound quality than the stereo microphones of the N8.
FM Transmitter is not about listening to radio or not, it's simply a quick way to share your music if you have a radio nearby, think about sharing musics from your phone to a car radio without needing to recording a CD, connect the USB or something.
But anyway, N8 is not by any means a competitor to Galaxy S II, maybe it was for Galaxy S but not for Galaxy S II. But as you said twice: "depends on user", there are things on N8 that can make it a more atractive choice over new high-end phones.
