It may not be pretty, but at least it has a face you would recognize everywhere. But there's more to this.

FIH Mobile manufactured but Nokia itself is partly owned by Foxconn. Foxconn owned the rights to sell Nokia feature phone and also gain ownership of Nokia manufacturing plants from Microsoft. So, it really is OWNed by chinese company now and no one is hating on Foxconn.

Microsoft actually sold its mobile assets to both HMD( a newly established company) and Foxconn-specifically its subsidiary FIH Mobile( a Taiwanese firm).

The division that has been sold to the new Finland-based company, HMD Global will start to develop new Nokia-branded devices. FIH Mobile will manufacture this new Nokia-branded devices developed by HMD.

Akinaro, 04 Mar 2017screw nokia 3310, I want new LG chocolate and Samsung Omnia... moreLove your comment mate. Unfortunately and presumably smartphone world is dominated by women's as they're the ones who care about the SIZE!
my point here is that I dont need phablet that I would need a backpack to carry but a phone.
Back in the day phones were part of a jewelry and somehow defined us in terms of who and how we were.
market was dominated by the looks and not specs sheet.
once I have heard that moon landing(if one believe in it) was accomplished by computing power of a low end smartphone so the auestion I ask is do we want to hack the Pentagon or go to the moon with our devices?
I remember taking my entire weekly wages and buying nokia 8600 for £1075.
It was that thing...I saw it ...I loved it....I had to buy it.
I miss those times when it was not all about selfies and bigger screen but about looks and build quality...and dont tell me that "all metal design, monkey glass" and so on as I dont care.
Do we buy a car looking at its power or looks maybe?
              Tganks for mentioning that mate.
              peace

Akinaro, 04 Mar 2017screw nokia 3310, I want new LG chocolate and Samsung Omnia... moremuch more respect for the phones you have mentioned above.

screw nokia 3310, I want new LG chocolate and Samsung Omnia HD and UltraTOUCH or HTC Diamond Those phones had amazing look, even if they where average in terms of usage.

I just miss times, where phone had those cool look, with fancy addons and styled lines. So what if front of modern phones is taken by screen? you still have back, top, bottom and sides to create something fancy and cool.
All what we get today is... different color of back, and they have guts to call it exclusive and new, just by naming it "diamond blue" or "starlight black"... THE F??!!

Let me guess, none of thee smartphones has a screen smaller than 5"? Nor is the length shorter than 135-140mm either? :-/ Crap!

Among all the hate dont you find amazing that one simple phone could stir so much hype while other brands mainstreaming couldnt? That was Nokia for you, always managed to grab the attention while other did the same thing every year.

You're getting 2 years out of a $35 investment, plus it's not really supposed to be a blockbuster hit in developed smartphone markets but upcoming ones like India, Middle East, etc. Where not every human being needs internet connectivity and where 2G and 3G connections will remain beyond your 2020 deadline... Plus if I had young teenage children and were to give them a phone this would probably be it...

If nokia could revive the Nseries form factors with skinned android OS.. Imagine 2017 nokia N79 (having a slicker look on music centric volume wheel by the side and amoled touch screen with finger print control navigation setup.. Flatter and geeky).. That will sell out 10million in a few month trust me

Raphi7, 04 Mar 2017Omg lmfao when i read th ORIGINAL nokia 3310 from 17 YEARS ... moreSome people want to be in it again the same reason millions snatched up the mini NES as some want to be transported back to 1985-1990 again. Nostalgia is an illusion and liar but don't underestimate its bittersweet feeling of yearning for yesteryear.
