Allo has a better design and themes, i want a dark theme to save battery not stress my eyes which Allo has. if Allo get Sms support it will be better than messages. the problem with RCS in messages while it has potential, it is still new and will take years to become a universal standard. Allo is a cross-platform app and with a push from google can be as good as whatsapp someday, but with SMS support it will be a one solution app for messaging for many users.

Gave up using Google assistant. I had to open the damn allo all the time. Make a separate app pls. :(

I like Google, I really do but man their messaging platforms are just bordering in schizophrenia. Why didn't they bought an already popular platform with encryption by default, integrate it with all their services with tiers for professionals and regular users and call it a day.

Android Messages has SMS and is dedicated for that
Assistant is no longer an exclusive, so Allo is going worse than Hangouts and google plus

All this still won't make me use Allo. as long as there is no SMS support then this is nothing more than chatbot toy, so no thanks google. This will fail and will be removed by google after 2 years.
