I like the idea of getting bigger screen the better, BUT to that extent to its sides (more or less 1 mm remaining), I dont prefer.
Negatives:
1.) How it looks when you put your casing? And even a bare iphone 5 to be, actually it's ugly design.
2.) more fragile
3.) Is the antenna reception be solved?
Any way whatever the next design it could be, people are buying it.

apple is also consequent with the overall phone volume...so it is more likely a 4inch screen on a volume similar to the iphone 4

not a fan of the iphone, but cant deny the design of the iphone4 is something beautiful, i think the iphone size is just right, so making a 4 inch screen is a smart way to go. however they should follow the rest of the world in making screens 16:9 ratio, unlike the 5:3 that they use... that would make the screen a bit larger, and it wouldnt require black bars every time it wants to take a picture or video.. or PLAY a picture or video.

My dreams come true. Always dreamed about super thin bezel, it will cause very good sense of scrolling.
I was thinking, that SGS 2 will be the pioneer of such a design.

The screen is fine at 3.5" but I'd sooner see the larger one. 2.9" just sounds odd if you ask me. Will the phone be able to keep to aspect ratios in video?
The Mini seems more likely this year. A smaller iphone 4 with faster processor and Gfx chip, plus last years 5mp camera. It'll cost the earth though.

If the iPhone mini is legit, and would be designed well without any shitty antenna, then it will be a force to reckon with in the mid-tier smartphone market. Anroid/Phone7 makers better have a counter move plan for that.

The "mini" thing is for me a good idea. But leaving almost no "margin" on its sides is not a good idea, it doesn't look good. If the upper and lower part would have no "margin", it would probably look better.

Bigger. Apple follows trends as much as it sets them, and the market (not you few) wants bigger.

Smaller exterior with similar screen size would be preferable from my view. The iPhone 4 is close to the upper limit on how large I would like my mobile.
