Is there a similar product which can use your fixed line to call your mobile for Skype rather than having to subscribe to another SIM card?

Is there in the market any other product like this, but using SIP protocol? I mean, a product that does the exactly same thing, but using other voip providers like Vonage, for example.

yes you are right, I also visited ipdrum. What I checked is that they don't Skype PBX funciton that forward skype calls to different mobiles, several other as well. However, this shows that there will be such products at the market near future:)

ipdrum.com has the same solution, maybe you should take a look at that as well.

You get 2 sim cards, one for the router, and one for your mobile so would the sim that goes into your mobile affect the current network that one is on?Can you still receive and send texts and calls normally? Or does one have to get a different mobile phone and leave it at home so that it just receives these calls??

Pretty useless if you have to pay the communication to forward the calls...

Hopefully if wimax become license free and enjoy the same expanditure as the wifi we will truly have freedom of communication at unsignificant costs

that is really good thinking, i mean the idea is kinda of not so new but this is good coordination of calling systems, and i expect such smart inventions to lower the costs of internet, skype and voip by mobile networks duo to compititions,,, however i prefer for my self calls through voip , as u don´t pay for minutes of your calls to west europe, usa, canada and many other countries, so i prefer this to skype and i wish they release a voip related version of this machine,,,

Doesn't seem to be a point for us folks in Canada as we already have a service that does this, http://yak.ca

I signed up for their mobile yak (no monthly fee), all I have to do is call a local access number and then key in my final destination number. The advantage here is local numbers available as opposed to just calling your SIM/Mobi thing.. nice idea though

Clearly 3 is now responding to demand but they are still charging for this addon therefore recovering costs/losses. the thing to do would be to see if the other networks will follow this lead. in the long term they will, perhaps because of equipment like this. they wont want to lose customers to 3.

:)I think it is ridiculous to talk about courts. Some of the mobile operators maybe are not so happy of Skype, but the smart ones, see what they are doing:

you can get skype calls on 3 mobile, it seems much simpler than this i think, its on the x series add on - the basic one is £5 per month, that gets you unlimited msn messenger, internet, email to your handset, and skype calls... and you dont run the risk of getting disconnected or sued by your commpany cos of breach of T&C's!!!
