this greedy company will never make it. 5.5" 720p for 3.5m IDR is ridiculous. Samsung J7 Prime and Oppo F1S will eat this phone alive. Of course the more informed people will always choose Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 over this POS.

But looking at Zimbabwe, where currency denomination isn't really useful compared to the cost of its implementation, specially to handle inflations, we chose to focus our effort to control inflation rates.

Motorola already able to meet TKDN a.k.a LCL (Local Component Level) which is around 30% this year. They will assemble their devices at Serang. So as long as they have the will to bring it to Indonesia, they can do it.
For anyone who curious what is TKDN/LCL... Basically, any 4G devices sold at Indonesia must meet the local component level requirement, which is increasing yearly (I don't know the planned final cap). This year, it must have 30% level. Mind you that this local component isn't only for the phone. It can be the boxes, manuals, cables, etc. Even software component is counted. If you found 4G devices sold legally in Indonesia, most probably it was assembled in Indonesia.

PT. BB Merah Putih did bought the rights to manufacturing, marketing, & selling BB devices for Indonesian market, as the new regulation here says that "ALL 4G phones to be sold in Indonesia need to fullfill 30% of LOCAL CONTENTS, mainly hardware components HAVE TO BE MADE IN INDONESIA (TKDN regulation), which is why PT. BB merah putih, as local phone manufacturers see this regulation as a "chance" to ROB potential smartphone buyer into buying this PIECE OF JUNK.
This regulation is VERY GOOD to stimulate local phone manufacturers into "go international" and step-up their quality, both software & hardware-wise, BUT NONE were thinking like Xiaomi did, ALL of them only concerned about "how to make cheap Android phone with cheap components and sell it like hotcakes". ALL of local Android phones have SIMILAR DESIGN, they mostly re-used previous design with slighly bigger display & camera & flashlight positioning. ALL of them NEVER ever released patch update for ALL their smartphones, let alone Android version upgrade, so once u buy a LOCAL smartphone, u will get what u pay for "CHEAP Android phone with CHEAP quality, CHEAP components, CHEAP software support & CHEAP service center"
My point is, Aurora will be another FAILURE made by TiPhone like ALL their previous attempts before, because it is TOO BLOODY EXPENSIVE for a local-made smartphone with "BlackBerry" logo in it, which is pretty similar to Android one (hardware made by locals, software managed by BIG brands (Google, BB)).
Like I said in previous comment, for IDR 3.5 Million, there SOO MANY BETTER Android phones available here. For example Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML with 4GB RAM only cost IDR 2.5 Million, Xiaomi Mi 5 64GB priced the same as Aurora, IDR 3.5 Million, Xiaomi Mi Max 64GB only cost around IDR 2.5 Million, with ALL the BIGgies gimmick (Big display, Big batteries, BIG RAM & ROM options, etc).
In short, only BB SHEEP or Rich but STUPID Noobs will ever considering buying this JUNK, which is WORSE than the "famous" Nokia 6 with PATHETIC SD430

Moreover,there are tons of bbm invitation spammers from local online shops and shady people.

In Indonesia, BB is premium brand and people will buy it, you can't expect that price will compete with Xiaomi (most come in with distributor hand and use Jokowi ROM LOL). IT WILL SELL WELL BECAUSE IT BB!

Not to mention BlackBerry's security.

As an Indonesian, I feel like this company is just name dropping now, this is subject to speculation but I still think that the build and overall experience of the phone will seem very cheap and for that price, there are countless of phones with better builds in the Indonesian market. As the last surviving market for RIM's dying brand, this i feel to be the wrong move. They should create a mid range level of the KEYOne/ Mercury and sell that in Indonesia.
