Probably they downgraded the images of G5 in favor of G6. Don't forget that in last year G5 had the best camera both in low light and high light. It beat the S7 too.
According to this current photo comparison tool, the G4 has better photo quality than G5, which is opposite of the truth. It clearly proves that the G5's photos are downgraded.
In fact LG G5 has better camera than G6 in every way.

it is unbelievable, but LG did it again - they released camera that is worse (except low light) than its own previous generation... how is that even possible in this age - we still do not know - but LG's cameras are the worst out there and since LG G2 those managed to get even worse

Meh, I can't believe they priced the G6 at above the S7, which is still actually the better alternative all across the board - better camera, better battery life, better display, same performance, lower price..

Best low light is s7e. Best high light is pixel and s7e. G6 is always applying a a light border around deep colors that is clearly visible..

Better than G5 in low light, but in good lightning conditions its less sharp than G5 be it stills or 4K. Only devices that I know with about 12Mp that record sharp 4K and lossless stills are Pixel and HTC10. Good thing we got oneplus3 so we see how sharp and full of detail can be stills and 4K. Latest devices are like going backwards, with few exceptions like oneplus, sony,(?)...

Agreed... Some tests and comparrisons seem to show G6 as a solid performer, but I doubt it will hold against Xperia XZ Premium, Galaxy S8, Pixel 2 and new iPhones....

To be honest, it is much better than I expected, given the "1.12um" pixels (maybe the main sensor is not IMX258 after all but a more advanced one ?). It looks like it beats the S7 Edge in low light, which is no small feat. My respect for this phone just increased significantly :)

Anyone checked the low-light shots?! The G6 is surprisingly better than the S7 edge & G5 and the image quality is even somewhat comparable to Pixel HDR+ Auto.

Disappointing, just compared in good light against the Huawei Honor 8 and its about 10% better.
