Someone has played with the mix of releases, actually it is W42S which is SonyEricsson CDMA Japan product. SonyEricsson has announced W880i model name but not pictures so hold your breath for a very stunning phone. Malik

hi,
this is really very irritating that though a person goes beating around the bush and at the end find the mobile phone of his/her choice but the price is not mentioned beside the mobile and it makes no sense if you do not know the price of the mobile ph at the end of the day.

The phone I'm talking about is W880. W800 is not slim. W880 is really slim. You will see it when it goes public.

That is not the W880, have proto at work and this is surely not it. this one is an asian model, not for europe. clearly
W880 is a slim phone with 2 megapixels, non sliding. ;)

If the W880 turns out to be that "ai" thing and not the W42S then I'm officially giving up on the non-Japanese branches of Sony Ericsson. They never released any of their JP phones outside of Japan (except for the V802SE which became the V800/Z800 but that's hardly enough) which seems to not be gaining them that many new customers. I imagine they're trying to blow the competition out of the water by releasing the W42S outside Japan because they don't have that much of a chance otherwise (Nokia and Moto are far more common where I live- that and the techno-geeks buy Sharps and Toshibas) at winning the audiophile market. Their earlier Walkman phones won't be able to be used everywhere as a walkman (try to use it on a plane and see how far "offline mode" takes you as an excuse). This looks more like a walkman and will be accepted on planes (offline, of course).

This phone is merely for Mp3s... if i remember correctly, on the japanese site, it said it's cammera is only like 1.3mp, compared to the new nokia phones which have like 2.0, 3, or even 5 mp...
