Yes, the CPU might be frugal in its power consumption but the Galaxy S8 will still use a high resolution and very large screen on top of that. Nothing beats having a big battery, it's the very reason I bought myself the Note3 three years ago. Back then Samsung had the biggest battery and the note offered no compromises in screen size as well as a big battery. Nowadays Samsung offers fast charging and wireless charging instead of a big battery. This is the route all manufacturers are going to follow but I really hate small batteries.

I like the G6 with its very thin bezels and it's better build but nothing really 2017 about everything else is pretty much Last years even the camara. But not DAC or something so simple like notification light . Can't wait for the S8

The thing is. Only us geeks cares if it has the latest chipset or not 😂 I'm sure lg g6 will sell cause it's a beautiful device.

its a good brand and phone tbh...just few things why in uk no hifi dac no wireless....and the camera why still smaller mp size and the selfie one not important the aperture was .20 and now 2.2 from 8 to 5 mp....plus asking price for in a few months outdated chip not that is a slouch but just sayin

So 3500 mah will give you good to decent battery life. Samsung is developing a flagship, and a really awesome flagship. They wouldn't do a mistake in creating it

That doesnt sound like much at all. Unfortunately, same ballpark as the G5 which had really poor sales for LG.

Why is it whenever an OEM that isn't Samsung or Apple gets a good report on their product, some of you Neanderthals in this comment section feel the need to mention "that's not good enough" or mention it's Competitor "Samsung will sell more than that".
It may not be good enough to you, but something is better than nothing, I'm sure LG is proud of the positive reaction the LG G6 is having from the public so far in their Homeland, and I don't blame them, Kudos to them, hopefully this positive reaction is the same Globally.
The world doesn't revolve around Samsung or Apple, take off the blinders!

It's a prettier g5 with taller screen and water resistance. All secondary features after the first few days.
They traded those with sealed battery (a primary feature no matter what. No instant 100% charge anymore, no replacing of an aging battery that does not cost a fortune and violates the integrity of the phone.
Again why should it do well? In the long run it would be a harder flop than g5 (which IMO was a fine phone striken down by its unbearable ugliness).

Why buy an expensive 2017 phone with 2016 hardware? It is a really pretty device tho I would still go for the competition. Huawei are always good value especially with their mate series. Samsung throw all the top tech into their phones starting with their amoled screens to using the fastest processors(although I wouldn't buy a new Samsung because they have started using very small batteries). Sony even with its gigantic bezels offers top notch hardware in its XZ Premium. The LG unfortunately would be my last choice.

Lack of the 835soc is not the end of the world but if I were going to the shops today to buy the phone I'm gonna use for the next two to three years then I don't want outdated hardware.

Samsung will get first crack at the Snapdragon 835, and only after the GS8 is launched will the chip be available in sufficient quantities for other OEMs to build phones around it... What's that lg fault!?
