Future Nokias may have Carl Zeiss optics, but HMD is playing coy

13 March 2017
A new tweet refutes an earlier post that suggested the Zeiss/Nokia partnership will not be revived.

Just saying: Zack has tested Nokia 6 durability. It didn't flex even a bit. Possibly even more durable than HTC 10.

They are handy business devices.

Simon, 14 Mar 2017Point me to a professional using Windows phone. The whole b... moreCorporations, sales people, project managers, people who send/receive tons of emails, professionals who use MS Office - basically people who rely on their phones for productivity on the go.
You can't compare Outlook and Windows phones' email capabilities with any other Android/iOS app out there. It's faster, loads a lot more of the email chain, has smart sync, it's all native (no need to download any 3rd party apps to set up any of your email accounts), it ALWAYS syncs (unlike Android apps/Outlook), and you generally don't waste time waiting for your emails to load.
And MS Office just runs much faster on Windows phones. OneNote, Calendar, OneDrive, Contacts, Tasks, Docs, Skype - everything is faster and more stable on Windows.

Of course, there might be business professionals who don't use Office/Outlook much (no need for them) and they might not see the advantages, but those are few. And most likely not really professionals.

Bottom line is: if you send&receive less than 50 emails a day, and you don't work with a lot of attachments, then you don't actually need a professional device running Windows. You can get the same stuff done on an Android device. (30% slower, but that shouldn't be an issue)

Just imagine a physical keyboard phone with a little more advanced specs than a Nokia N82 and Nokia 515 while having Carl Zeis optics! It will be a HUGE hit! Even the new Nokia 3310 broke a record in preorders! Just imagine a successor to the Nokia 6233 with those specs above!

Vaio Agent, 13 Mar 2017Carl Zeiss just a name, actual performance is what we care!Just a name? You're right. The biggest name so far in phone cameras.
I had Nokia N8 back in 2010 - 12MP Carl Zeiss optic with stunning photos and video for that time and iPhone 4, the current model for that time was ages behind. Same for Samsung.
Then i bought Nokia 808 in 2012 and Nokia 1020 in 2014. Till that time nothing can't match Nokia+Zeiss optic. Was years ahead. Still the last two phones can shot better pictures than last iPhone and Galaxy S in certain conditions, not in any case, but still thats 3 years old phones.
