16 March 2017
This comes after the March security update for units running Android 7.1.1 broke Android Pay.

People who flashed 7.1.1 installing the OTA screwed up all their apps.

Too bad that the Samsung S7 Edge does not have the Edge lighting feature available with Nougat 7.0; at least on the Verizon network. Seem to recall that was a large sales feature??

Everyday Google is pushing me to use CyanogenMod, or miui, I won't change my Nexus 6 and it was always stuck on Android 7.0, I love this is a phablet and at the moment I haven't seen any other phone better. But cause of stopping the support and updates is forcing me to move... I have waited several months for an update, when I was on beta program saw devices on 7.1.1 and I on 7.0 for weeks, fortunately leaving beta program got me with no data loss, but cmon Google. Is that the best you can do? A downgrade and leave us in the past after you gave us chances to keep innovation??

Google is telling Nexus users to buy an overpriced Pixel to replace their phone. Pushing out a bad update and don't bother to fix it just shows Google isn't committed to keep Nexus updated.

Google should really leave Android alone. I have never seen such a mess. Not even their search engine works properly...

Someone Else, 16 Mar 2017It looks like Google really rushed the 7.1.1 update on the ... moreMost OEM started a roll-out at some point but cancelled it some time after... So I'd say there is something wrong with it. What? I don't know for sure. And yes, custom ROMs by OEM like LG/Samsung already have the number 1 improvement, multi-window. So not having Nougat is not that dramatic.

Someone Else, 16 Mar 2017It looks like Google really rushed the 7.1.1 update on the ... moreactually only online reviewers seem keen on the nougat update...(and some update crazy people in the comment section..hehe).true it brings many features..but these are already present in most of the custom OS found in sony/samsung phones in marshmallow already...even gsma acknowledge that the s7 nougat update brought down the battery life..personally i'd say nougat is a failed update from google

I agree people complaining Samsung and others are taking too long but just be happy you don't have to update your phone then downgrade it again.

It looks like Google really rushed the 7.1.1 update on the Nexus 6. All those unlucky users have to wipe up their data because of Google. Nougat sure have lots of problems lately. It get me thinking, lot of manufacturers tends to delay the Nougat update (7.0 or 7.1.1) on their phone. Does Nougat have some serious problems or something? If it does, we have to be glad that some manufacturers likes to delay the Nougat update so that they can fix some bugs instead of releasing a buggy update.
