Yesterday I brought home an E7 ... bought it over the counter in Australia.

Superb phone! Great UI alternatives. Seamless usability. Beautifully built. Very responsive touch screen. Amazing slide-out mechanism. Precision keyboard. Scores of free or very cheap apps from the ovi store!

I have one simple question to those that "bag out" this phone ... Are you sure you've had one in your hand?

What a shame another Nokia with Symbian.
Nokia make ok phones, just wish they would swap to Android, then they would Jump to the top quicker than they think.
Nothing against Nokia and Symbian is a good stable platform. But its unresponsive, very boring and looks dull and old. Android, Apple and Blackberrys are feel modern and apple and android have great apps.
      Such a shame

[deleted post]Too many trolls giving advice about a product they never used. I would buy the E7 over the ball-and-chain iphone in an instant if it had the same camera as the N8.

Very Expensible by offering hardware, Nokia usually announces outdated models...with 680MHz processor and 256 RAM? Battery life? When most manufacturers offer tops with dual core, tegra, AMOLED?Bye bye nokia!

The best QWERTY phone out there in my opinion. And which OS is actually using dual cores at this time?

I can't understand it?I really don't...Aside from the obvious reason that this is just about clearing inventory?

E7 just got here on Malaysian shores and for what?S^3's tombstone are being prepped as we speak and the base asking RRP?Unbelievable...

Hell "suits" and exec types would just shrug this off and get a BB for the heck of it?

I knew the writing was on the wall back when we all slapped our foreheads the minute N900 came out.Could have done way better and could have EASILY supplant iPhone's "supremacy" (I use that word generously if anyone doesn't get the sarcasm) at the time but noooooo in typical Espoodian fashion they had to half @$$ it.Where should I begin?Slow OS development.Landscape fixed UI at early stages and yet again the arrogant introductory market price.Even if it is the world's most hackable phone, it could have been way way better.Perhaps it could have been the "holy grail" smartphone that literally every salted smartphone user have dreamed of, that can run any smartphone/light desktop OS we can throw at it with a Nokia badge on it.It was Nokia's chance to the world that should have said "Yeah WE made this.Don't need patents for it!".It signified Nokia's true weakness even as the market leader. That it got too big to move fast enough to beat the curve.

                      Oh and to this guy:-
"But I have to mention the fact that you said that Symbian is dead, you are certanly an american or a Gizmod follower to believe that Symbian is dead, I want to you to show me where Nokia said that they wouldn't be supporting Symbian anymore, quite the opposite, they already said that they will still supporting it, even with WP7 as the main plataform."

Sorry to disappoint but I'm Asian, a longtime Nokia/Symbian user and fan and I rarely take Gizmodo seriously although I have that bookmarked a while ago. You're missing the salient and obvious points.Define support.Especially at firmwares I'm not talking OS ver progression. It takes some pretty dedicated indie groups out there to push out custom ROMs for various models that fixes efficiencies way faster than anything Nokia can.And these guys barely get paid!

Read the news lately?Selling the commercial arm off QT sounded HELLUVA "supportive" no?It's simple and it showed way way back when we all never had seen this "Microkia" thing coming. How long did it took Nokia before they made that plunge to Maemo AFTER they can't decide whether Symbian can take the high end heat? And look what happened to that?

Simply put Nokia just can't handle a multi OS strategy.Especially ones it insists on total control for. It's technically insane resources-wise.Brains or money it's the same thing.Devs, apps' market and long term model support the whole works.

You actually believe that with this new and huge WP7 commitment (like it or not MS paid BILLIONS for the project. That's huge enough "motivation" for Nokia to NOT f*** it up) Nokia can really back their own words?Track record says otherwise man c'mon...

I want Nokia to get back on track too but let's call the shots where it's due eh.

I'm fan of nokia, and I'll rather spend this money to try Samsung Galaxy 2, E7 is only worth 399 since the spec is low and far from other new devices in the market, Flop.S keep kissing M$'s ass doesn't care how ugly nokia now, e7 will drop price like hell quick.
