HTC U Ultra gets a teardown video

17 March 2017
HTC's U Ultra is much easier to fix than HTC's more recent smartphones. Unfortunately, it comes at a huge cost.

          too many coaxial antenna wire

It's not bad at all except that they are charging too much for what it is! I'd take an S7 or Edge if they have the same price. The HTC should be lower than S7 pricing

Sad to see such a good company falling down. They've built great phones in the past, hero, desire HD, sensation, one X, one S, butterfly and htc one.

What a wasted space. Now we know why it have small battery and all the other things that they could have put into this massive phone.

Brought to you by the same company that built the Pixel. Cloth earpiece and glued display.

Ive got a LG G5. I know it got alot of abuse for being ugly, etc but its so easy to fix.
In the 8-9 months ive had it, ive replaced the screen and had to change the fingerprint sensor and volume rocker due to water damage.
Just two screws, then it just splits in half, no glue, no adhesive, nothing.

''For what itÂÂ’s worth, the smartphone that was disassembled on the video was not reflective of a $750 device; in 2013, perhaps yes, but definitely not 2017.''

respect , that's really kind of you GSMarena for trying not to be overcritical , bc those are some nice words ... I would say mid-range device from 2011-2012 at best .

here is premium smartphone developed in 2012 , released at very beginning of 2013 :

what a cheap build.... it's utter crap actually , shame bc devices like this are gonna be downfall for a once a great smartphone maker.

people at HTC are thinking that they can build cheap phones like this and sell them for a premium price just because there is HTC logo on them ... that's not the way to succeed .
