But we won't have quantum cpu-s in our phones. Processing will be cloud based.

From Ray Kurzweil:

he states that humans will be a hybrid of biological and non-biological intelligence that becomes increasingly dominated by its non-biological component.
We will have brain extenders that we have created to expand our own mental reach. They will be part of our civilization. They will be part of who we are. So over the next few decades our human-machine civilization will become increasingly dominated by its non-biological component. In Transcendent Man Kurzweil states "We humans are going to start linking with each other and become a metaconnection we will all be connected and all be omnipresent, plugged into this global network that is connected to billions of people, and filled with data."
Kurzweil states in a press conference that we are the only species that goes beyond our limitations- "we didn't stay in the caves, we didn't stay on the planet, and we're not going to stay with the limitations of our biology".

If screen resolution will be 300mpx, I still can't imgagine what content we will use? What processor we will need? Quantum procesor? Because human eyes using human brains possibilities. And what battery?. Maybe you will have poor supbixel-pixel quality. O different screent techology. Maybe will be useful for VR content. This these technology possibilities count 100 years technology improvements i think. But I can't imagine what we will can do with phones with quantum procesors. Quantum physic calculating and modeling for chilling? Connected brains web? Sending real feelings message for friend brains and what about thinking? Intelect base services for brains? No more need to learn something because just need think about it to connect with intelect base service? Or feelings base service?

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2017Of course 1500 PPI would be better, but we're nowhere near ... moreYes. Much more important in screen is pixel qualitys, their depends on subpixels quality. If we still have pentile subpixels quality, we will have poor quality bad pixels (energy ecifient). So we will have bad these all hight much DPI. Better is have good quality RGB amoled 4k nor bad quality pentile pixels 8k screen. Or even QHD RGB supixels nor 4K pentile subpixels. Because is subpixel looking stage it look denser and sharper, less subpixel-pixel emptiness holes in subpixel-pixel cobweb. Well Samsung switching to RGB Amoled QHD, their called QHD+, so no worries in bad subpixel-pixel quality. But need keep it up RGB standart. Hopping they will. Also is another side efect, poor subpixels-pixels quality is more energy efficient, for battery. But i think Samsung, they battery energy loos from better screen will compensate with more energy efficient processor Snapdragon 835 and we will still have good screen on time. Battery limit for those days is also limit for high quality high density DPI screen technology improvements. So not much they can do now. If you want really high DPI you will get low quality screen subpixels-pixels or good quality but not long screen on time. Sure other technology improvements not standing on on the spot, is helping better more energy efficient procesors, new faster charger technology, OS stability and energy efficient, apps, games stability and optimisation for good energy efficient. So everythings matters for good screen on time. Its software engineers jobs also. Like i said also fast charging helping. Sure battery suffer more from it and wear faster nor when normaly charging. But it lasts 2 years battery for me using only fast charging until was fully dead. So when battery is sealed need change it in technical service its maybe lit a bit discomfortor. Or buy another phone. But I still think battery technology for fast charging for long battery lasting is good. Sure battery technology limit improvements also waiting.

AnonD-448221, 21 Mar 2017Yes, the high resolution screens would be absolutely import... moreOf course 1500 PPI would be better, but we're nowhere near there. Instead we're right at the 800 PPI mark for two years now and Samsung is not using it! It makes no sense, I've used a 4k VR viewer, granted it's chinese and it's awful but the one thing I noticed is how much more clear it was than 1280p (or 1440p) viewers.

Going from 1440p pentile to 4k RGB made a huge difference, almost like going from 720P to 1440p and since the tech is mature Samsung is killing interest in VR by keeping that tech back. People would soon lose interest and by the time they'd decide to use the tech all interest for VR would be gone ... bye, bye Samsung VR...

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2017They should have added 17:9, 4096x2160 (4k) screen in their... moreYes, the high resolution screens would be absolutely important!
But AMD's vision is this: for absolute perfect sense of reality you need 16k per eye.
            http://i.imgur.com/poNbUQa.jpg
Thats 128 Mpixel per eye, so 256 mpixel. So the lousy 8Mpx (4K) screen is nowhere near what we ultimately need.

The 1440p for VR now is really bad. I think doubling it won't get us too far, but of course it will be a much needed, relieving experience.
When you multiply 1440p resolution EIGHT times then you get to 1500ppi (on 5,5") and it's roughly 8K (~30Mpx)!!! So WE NEED those 1500 ppi screens BADLY!
And on the other side, we need higher resolution video materials too.

Guardians of the galaxy 2 is already shot on an 8K (32 Mpx) camera, so we are getting there, but painfully slowly.

I don't know, if they'll be able to make 16k screens, I think they will. And allegedly GPU performances will catch up to the petaflop level, that would be needed to push out graphics on that resolution. I think we will get there around 2030.
Of course you don't need extra capable hardware for just playing plain video files. You only need it, when you want to play in an artifical virtual space, that is rendered on the fly.

The first really impressive stage will be 1500ppi (8K) in 2019. I'm eagerly waiting it!
I think they will only put it in the S10 :((.

Most inventions are done by Doctorate degree students in Universities. Just look at the John B. Goodenough, who invented the li-ion battery. Or the inventors of LCD, OLED, CRT's, Transistors, Thermionic triodes, etc... All were Scientists, and all were either privately funded or worked for universities. Heck, look at Nuclear Fusion research that's going on. Most scientists are with large private universities.

So your 'display tech' comment isn't entirely correct. That being said, yes they are currently falling behind in mobile displays, and CLEDIS is nothing but an evolusion of the current Crystal LED (CLED) displays. IS part being the Integrated Structure, essentially meaning that your CLED block is self contained, with its own motherboard.
So to the guy that you've replied to - CLEDIS if for billboard displays, and not for your average phone or home TV.

Yes Samsung go for it. I would love to buy best white point having big screen like s8+ 6.2inch. Hopping they wiill have good white point screens. Its for good skin tones, good cinema, photography, reading good viewing experience. Because is hard to find phone having big and good and very good white point screens. Really Best white screen points having now Sony XZ premium and XZs, but they are small screens, biggest is 5.5inch and too heavy 195g for long usage and one hand. Also for two hand long usage is too heavy. LG G6 have not bad but not best White point. IPhone and Sony normaly having best these. But Im putting big hope for S8+. They Samsung must fixing white screen point and eye strain screen factors from amOLED. If it will do, I will revoke my promise never to buy amOLED screens again (normaly means Samsung). So means they will get i think all LCD customers. So funny LCD having good white screen points, Amoled's have good black points. Seems maybe need wait for note 8.
