I hope Microsoft releases a half priced surface pro as well, apple didn't make a mac based tablet and now it is just too late.

So what's the market position comparing to IPad pro 9.7?? They really make me confused.

Same ripoff as the 5se. If you wanna proper tablet just get the 9.7 Pro

Why did they use the processor A9 instead of A10? Is it cheating for the person who are waiting for the new with amazing prospects?
            Nonetheless those will be useless.

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2017Better apps? Are you still living in the 2000s?Apple blocks app makers from releasing good versions of their apps to android. So we get seperate tablet and mobile apps on iphone/iPad but not on android.

It's sad but true, it's also what creates the need for ipads instead of androids.

I personally use an android tab because the apps I use are on android, but if I was a big social media guy, or a music producer I would had definitely bought an iPad. ..

Is this the laziest piece of engineering ever?? They didn't even recycle the old product that was lying around, its screen isn't laminated to the glass and doesn't have the anti-reflective treatment found on the screen of every other iPad or any other modern phone that we have. What is wrong with apple? I wanted to upgrade from my original ipad air this year. But it seems like they are doing stupid things like taking away the headphone jack and now this to put me away from apple products.

AnonD-558092, 21 Mar 2017Oh my! It's THE iPad! Wow! What, Apple fears people are ... moreIt's about the price. It's almost half than Samsung's with better apps for most people and probably better performance. It's a no brainer and I -for one- welcome the competition. I don't know why you don't, do you prefer to pay $600 for last year's hardware (that Samsung is offering) or $400?

Prices are only going to get down with proper competition, finally it's back on the tablet world (after 2 years of stagnation). You should celebrate even if you like android, especially if you like android.

Anonymous, 21 Mar 2017Are you joking? Why do you keep comparing your single core ... moreMulti core is similar too. But it doesn't matter either, A9 devices are faster in day to day performance. Check for example iphone 6s plus destroying *all* SD820 devices, evenue destorys. IPad results are similar (same soc). For example:
                                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNlc3hAe6i8

You must be a seious fanboys to refuse the serious dominance of Apple SoCs at this point. It's benchmarks, app launch tests, ram retention tests, video encoding, specint tests. It's all over the place, that's *dominance* ... and I don't even like apple (never personally owned any apple product).

I mostly bash Qualcomm because she dropped the ball lately due to its monopolistic practices.

But I agree with you, it's a matter of taste. I for one prefer android because of the file managers, emulators and proper multi tasking (I own the note 10.1 2014, running official lineage OS currently)

Right now i am seriously considering giving my iPad to my mom and buying windows or android Samsung tablet. Imho light, comfortable, well build Wacom pen and Amoled are realy awesome.

!IF! Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 would be compatible with DeX, than it would be no brainer for me, but i doubt that is the case.

Pretty weird , it's the first time Apple is doing a "value" version 9.7" iPad...Until now the Mini was the "value"...Pretty much an 3 year old iPad Air 2 with a larger battery and more efficient SOC(the normal 2015 SOC, not the X version, used in the "premium" version, iPad Pro 9.7)... But still a better tablet than any Samsung one, so it's not a bad one and 330$ is a very good price for it.

What, Apple fears people are going to get the Tab S3? But that's a cheap attempt to keep customers, like the Intel i5-7640K and i7-7740K, that are only slightly overclocked versions of the 7600K and 7700K (that you can overclock yourself.. A pretty dumb move targeting users with actual knowledge about overclocking)
