Thats why they use rounded corners on the display in Mi Mix for impact resistant. They know dropping the phone is a problem. The engineer will figure it all out soon enough as always. Dont worry.

Anonymous, 22 Mar 2017Gorilla glass is about screen "scratchiness" nothing to do ... moreCeramic is definitely a downgrade compared to Gorilla glass 5 and not the other way around when it comes to dropping your phone. Ceramic phone will crack at 2-3 feet while GG5 can survive a drop upto 1.5 meter.

Without certain bezel surely the screen is being held by a type rope, more prone to breaking when dropped, just don't get it with these bezzless phones, and insurance companies will be in the same mind to!

Sure, there are still some issues to be better worked out - improving hardware/software to stop accidental false screen activations from the sides (though I've rarely had this problem with my S6 Edge), and making the screens more resistant to damage through drops. Fortunately the second will soon be mostly fixed through the plastic substrates that have been developed for displays (instead of glass) and improved surface glass (better Gorilla Glass)
Though as phones get thinner and lighter (lighter is the key) they become much easier to handle and less prone to being dropped.
Go go Bezel-less!!

I don't know what happened to logic of people nowadays. Their hate towards bezels have driven them to such limits where manufacturers are producing these kinda weird devices which are not reliable and strong enough to withstand minor drops too. How the hell would you use such devices comfortably without encountering any unwanted touches? Turning the phone upside down to use selfie camera for video calling and again then turning back upside down to use back camera sounds as stupid as people loving this phone. Anything beyond 80% screen to body ratio is not a phone for me at all. Try to play some landscape games in these kinda phones you'll go crazy thinking where to hold the device and then you'll miss those bezels.

Xa, 22 Mar 2017so ugly, why would i want a bezelless phone ??? Mi Mix 1 is the only mini tablet (it's 6.44 inches!) that is pocketable... Its size is the same as iphone plus despite having almost an inch on it (in diagonal screen size).
In other words in phablets bezeless is everything, it allows them to be compact and thus usable (I don't want to wear cargo pants everywhere, sorry).
Bezeless is basically the best thing coming out of Xiaomi right now...
